Living your life in extremes, where all people of a certain demographic are exactly the same isn't helpful for anyone. If you can't even acknowledge that, that's a problem. But it's America in 2018, so I guess I expect nothing less. Why use critical thinking skills when you can find like-minded people on the internet who validate your beliefs, even if they're skewed and full of generalizations?

Keto was never meant to be used to help treat diabetes. It's supposed to be used by epileptics or people with autism to help their brains sort of metabolize fuels slightly differently. The way it works goes totally against the way your body is supposed to run, so it's very hard on your body. That's why it's so hard to sustain. Your body naturally craves carbs very much. In fact, going into keto mode can actually make diabetes worse if you ever do go back to eating carbs because it makes your cells insulin resistant. The problem with the standard American diet that causes so many health problems is the amount of refined carbs. If you replace the refined carbs with complex carbs, you can get a lot of the benefits of low carb without totally giving them up. I lost weight and KEPT IT OFF for almost 20 years by focusing on eating mostly veggies and fruits and whole grains, some lean proteins and fats, and about 10-20% fun stuff like candy, booze, etc.

The phrase "God Bless America" makes me cringe nowadays...not because I don't love my country but because the phrase seems to have been co-oped by the conservative right. The use it to justify every shitty, racist thing they think and say. God doesn't bless American any more than any other country.

While I don't agree with the way migrants are being treated in the US, once again Americans act as if they are the only country with this problem. Currently Europe is experiencing their own migrant problems especially southern Europe. I've seen some that are aware of the problems Europe is facing with the influx of migrants and make comments about how European countries should take those people in but once it is turned to Americans taking in migrants they flip out and demand they return to their home country.

I personally feel everyone with a MAGA hat truly wishes it should be MAWA ( Make America White Again ) but when I see Cardi B and Offset on the cover of Rolling Stone when they look more suited for the cover of Pimps and Ho's, it makes me pause and think about where America is headed.

It's unbelievable to me that the American flag is flying next to the North Korean flag. Trump is friendlier with a monster, who has committed crimes against humanity, than he is with Canada. MAGA?

With all this bombing Syria stuff going on, we got freaking out. We live right outside the gate of one of the biggest bases in America. We heard some weird noises, like planes were flying too low. We thought we were about to be hit. It ended up being DDs video game in another room.

I had a dream that I made lobbying illegal. I seriously wish it really were. I swear that's where 90% of the problems with American politics lie.

People in America hate socialism because, for decades, our society was indoctrinated with anti communist/socialist beliefs. That belief structure allowed the US government to launch wars, among other things, with the backing of the American people. It's why "under God" was added to the pledge of allegiance- to show we weren't a bunch of godless commies. But, since it's a belief that's been ingrained into so many people, you have folks who view every, single aspect of socialist countries as bad. No form of government is perfect. Anything too extreme is bound to fail, including capitalism.
