This house buying process is a nightmare. Our lender made a mistake, then thought we couldn't close. I'm about to say eff it and just live in my in-laws basement forever. (FTR we are selling our current home and staying with them a couple weeks during transition-I don't actually "live" with them)

My husband made a professional mistake almost 10 years ago. Believe me he owns it and feels awful. But it sucks that because of the internet that will live on literally forever. If you go to prison for something, your record is cleared. But for lots of other things, it will literally never go away. Believe me, I certainly was disappointed in him. But forever is a long time. He didn't steal but he is in a business with licenses and he did break a rule by omitting information to a client. He's paid for it a thousand times.

Made an offer on a house. It's a weird feeling because I thought I would be Woohoo! soooo excited. Instead I am so chill waiting for the response. I like the house and it checks all our boxes, but I think because it is not decorated to my taste yet I don't feel mentally moved in or attached. Just not how I expected to feel about my forever home.

My God, I have been thinking this lately too, and even last night. I live with chronic pain and I'm over it. It's too much. And the BS in the world too. I can't stand the crime, the hurt people do to each other, innocent animals and children. Politics are horrible and the cheating and all that. I'm stuck in a dead-end job that I hate with no way out and I fear I'll be there forever. I can't take it. The only reason I wouldn't off myself is the hurt it would cause my immediate family. I don't really have friends and I have the WORST luck. Also I'm afraid of what punishment I'd get in the afterlife (no lectures about religion please or lack thereof please) But really I wish the world would end soon.

OP, that's just sad if you have to stay working part time forever because your dh can't or won't help you out more. I mean, if you don't have kids, why can't you both work fulltime (eventually) and split the housework?

I work with the lazy idiots. Today was my first day back from vacation. I applied for 2 jobs since I have been home. I am sick of their laziness, stupidity and attitudes. I can't do this forever.

I spoke with a lawyer yesterday. I can most likely get permanent alimony because I became disabled while married, and how I became disabled is partly my ex's fault. And I was a SAHM because he insisted, I don't qualify for disability since I didn't earn enough points. I'm not going to count on it nor do I want to just live off him forever, but I need to find a job where I can sit all day and I can make enough to pay all bills.

Im going to go out on a limb and assume this is directed at my post about financial independance. How is it being on my "high horse" to think that having a solid, adult foundation to take care of oneself and children is a negative? Do you think women should just hope some nice man will come along and take care of her and the kids forever, and all will be perfect? Is that a game plan for a man? No, a man doesn't have the option of the "daddy track" really. Some outliers exist, but not many little boys are told its a valid life plan to want to grow up to be a dad and marry a nice woman who will take care of him and the kids. This is no longer an option for Women. Easy? Who ever said living like an adult would be easy? Why do some women not understsnd that independance mean choices. If you do not depend on someone esle to take care of you, you are on more equal footing. Why do people scoff at this concept??

I truly don't understand why any adult, in this day and age, what 11 selves to be financially dependent on some buddy else. Oh, I get it if you're going to law school or medical school and just need your spouse to work while you study. I get it when the kids are really little, sometimes it's impossible. But what about afterwards? Do you really want to have your financial future decided by somebody else? Do you really want to be trapped in a marriage if it's no longer working? Over half of all marriages will end in divorce and no he does not have to pay you alimony for life. I realize this opinion may not be popular with some, but trust me, all those friends of mine who swear their marriages would last forever? I can count on one hand who still married

I moved here 6 years ago because the city I was living in was getting dangerous. It's been hard making friends because everyone's been here forever and their friendships are well-established. Last year, an acquaintance who was moving introduced me to her friend. We have a lot in common, but all we've done is talk on the phone/FB and text. The other day she texted saying we really needed to get together to go to this gourmet pizza place we'd talked about before. I was excited to finally get together and chat. Today I found out her motivation. She's supposed to meet a new guy on Friday (the day she initially said she wasn't free because she had to visit a friend in the hospital) at said pizza place, and he's bringing a friend. I guess she's uncomfortable being with two guys she doesn't know well and wants me to come with. Um, I'm married. Dh is away and while I can leave my teen home to meet a friend for dinner, it's not appropriate to have dinner with two strange guys. Feeling used :(
