GOD I hate these multi level marketing companies. They are so freaking predatory! Stop guilting women about having real jobs, stop pretending that you spend all day with your kids and only need to spend an hour or two a day on your phone doing your "side hustle", stop pretending they can earn a real salary shilling shitty makeup or jewelry or weight loss shakes. These people suck.

My mom had a disease like this, called MDS. Her bone marrow made faulty white and red cells and attacked her own platelets. I can't believe your family would blame you, how the hell are you supposed to prevent something like that?? It's just one of those things in life. My mother also took excellent care of herself.. was a healthy weight, never smoked or drank and led a healthy lifestyle. Your family sounds awful.

I went for a massage the other day for the first time in a couple years. Two things: first, my skin is so, so itchy, everywhere! It's not red or anything - my skin is very thick, not sensitive at all and I'm not allergic to anything. I Googled and apparently, massage causes blood vessels and capillaries to expand with oxygenated blood, sending "itching" signals to the brain. I couldn't even sleep the other night, it was so bad. Two, my clothes are much looser, but no weight loss. I've never had either of these occur after a massage before.

So I have a friend who is really into the whole HAES/weight doesn't matter lifestyle. She is in total denial about the health problems she has--she has high blood pressure, is prediabetic, and has horrible problems with PCOS. She's only 25 and instead of losing weight to help her PCOS, she wants to find a doctor who will give her a pill to help. I have PCOS too and the only thing that helped was to follow a diet low in processed carbs, lose the extra weight, and get the right birth control pill prescribed. She has a history of an eating disorder and I know weight loss is touchy for her, but she doesn't think her weight is causing any issues when it actually probably is.

I love the first few days of a diet! I don't feel like I eat that different or drink more water, but I obviously do, as the scale went down 3 pounds. It really motivates me to stay on target. I was only looking to lose 10 - 15 pounds overall, so this looks so significant. I know it is just water weight, but it makes me feel like I could get close to goal before my bikini vacation in 6 weeks. And I partly posting so I can look back at this in 4 weeks and get remotivated as I plateau.

My DH refuses to see a doctor regarding his lack of stamina during sex. He can't finish and goes soft every time lately. I am pretty sure it's because he has gained a lot of weight and may have low testosterone levels or some artery clogging. I don't care so much about the lack of sex; I just worry that it's something worse.

I watch this one YouTuber who is 550-ish lbs and she has been on a weight loss journey for over a year so she can get her uterine cancer under control. She recently posted a video of what she ate in a day when she wasn't dieting and it came out to about 4600 or so calories. And it was NOT that much food! I would be willing to bet that most people who say they eat 2000 calories or so probably underestimate quite a bit. She said she thought she was only eating about 2500 calories until she added it all up.

I follow an 80-20 (well, sometimes 70-30) rule about eating: most of what I eat is generically healthy stuff: Veggies, fruit, whole grain, lean protein, etc. But I would go bonkers if I never allowed myself some of my favorite "unhealthy" food as well, so I let myself have a little piece of chocolate or a donut once in a while and I never feel guilty. I feel like you have to have a sustainable way of eating decent if you want to keep weight off long term. I could never do a really strict diet--I did a few in the past and they just made me super crabby.

my resolution is to work on my mental health. I've already made an appointment with a therapist for January. I have a lot of other issues i could make resolutions for as well (binge eating, poor body image, procrastination, debt, impulse purchases, excess weight etc) but i think working with someone and doing the work to learn why i do the things i do will help me in multiple areas of my life.

My New Year's resolution is to quit eating fast food. I've struggled with emotional eating all my life, but a lot in the past 6 years. My most recent fast food binges has caused my weight gain. I enjoy eating cooking and healthy foods, but my cravings for processed crap has become a really bad habit especially after long, stressful days.
