So it's 11 pm, and I'm trying to convince myself to exercise because I didn't today because I was traveling. And it's like, I'm TIRED. And I should sleep! But I feel all this guilt. Can't I spend an hour with weights and stuff? Sigh. I'm going. I'm going. And as soon as I post this, I'm going to OMG it, because this is not right.

Skinny jeans senior citizen here - How I stay fit at age 72. I lift free weights at home. 20 years of yoga practice, don't need classes anymore just follow routine on TV or DVD. Aerobics at home. Line dancing 1 x per wk. Rarely eat fast food, potato chips or snacks. Few desserts. Few restaurant meals. No coffee or alcohol. Eat breakfast every day-- usually oatmeal and fruit. Mostly eat chicken and fish, hardly ever beef. Live alone and do my own household chores - raking, hauling boxes to and from basement and attic, moving furniture, hanging pictures, wash car. Yesterday I cleaned my house gutters, climbing up and down ladder to do it. Walk a few times a week. Anyone can do this. Oatmeal is cheap, I eat it raw. Line dancing is cheap just a few $$ a week at city rec center. I have little money to spend but don't need it to stay fit. All you need is the determination. My results are good and I feel good every day.

I'm not sure why we don't hear more about dumping syndrome when it comes to weight loss surgery. Too many people do not follow the liquid diet and happily eat their way to puking and feeling awful. Why is therapy not a requirement? What is the point in mutilating your stomach when you're not going to change the behavior that got you there in the first place? It seems dangerous and sets one up for failure.

I lurk on a forum/message board for people who have had/are considering weight loss surgery. A lot of them think getting the surgery will be some sort of magic bullet to help them get skinny, but they find out very quickly that it isn't. I just find it so interesting that most people who need the surgery the most are the ones who it doesn't work for because they don't use the tool appropriately.

I admit it. I've spent close if not more than $300 on eating out myself. I could afford it so I didn't even give much thought as to what I was spending. I also wasn't getting fat, since eating out often can and does effect your weight. My job kept me so busy I was literally running around while eating which was another distraction. I cut back a lot. Just because I can afford it, doesn't mean I should be spending that much money on food. I'm a damn good cook too, my food is better than gym mat bread from Subway!

I have to eat gluten free because of celiac. I do get annoyed when people act like "gluten free" is a trend or some new wave of weight loss gimmicks. The ONLY DIFFERENCE between gluten free food and non gluten free food is the gluten. Celiacs can't handle the gluten, it causes intestinal inflammation and breakdown of the villi. We end up with vitamin and mineral deficiencies, skin rashes and bloating. So we have to cut the gluten out of our diets. Other than that, we have to practice intelligence when eating gluten free in order to eat a balanced diet. That means a blend of fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains, etc. If all I ate were gluten free cookies of course I'd be unhealthy.

Penny's husband was in a hard place. If he didn't give into her demands she'd cry abused and deprived wife. She is the mother of his child. I can guarantee he'd be seen as the bad guy. When he did he was adding to her weight and unhealthy habits. He was also choosing to be ignorant with healthy eating. She insisted she needed won tons to survive while making them. He said frying them at home was better than a restaurant. know she'd use tears and wailing to say how much he didn't love her to give her the foods she wanted. How awful is that? I'd rather have my mom who worked all day than one who would make me sit in her toilet/bed/dinner table for quality time. So many other people would love the help and attention she got.

Why is it okay to ask a skinny person about the food their eating but questioning a fat person's meal is a mortal sin? After I shrunk down to a size 2 from a 16 I was amazed at how many people were interested on what was on my plate. Before I never heard a peep. I went from ordering soda and 2 entrees because I couldn't make up my mind and had to have both to 1 or maybe an appetizer and water to drink. I kind of wish family or friends would have spoken up when I was eating more. Doesn't it seem strange to order both a burger and fried chicken while complaining about your weight? I mean I was responsible for myself but at the time saw nothing wrong with my habits.

my weight has been all of the spectrum, from obese to too skinny. I am always the same person, no matter what I weigh. I have a good heart, work hard, treat my friends well, take care of my family, and responsible with money.... it's amazing how are those good traits would just count for nothing if I happen to gain 20 pounds.

I'm fat, I used to not be fat but having a difficult pregnancy made me gain a ton of weight. For the past 6.5 years I've stayed fat, and didn't care. I'm pretty, always have been, and I have a great personality and money. I've always had great confidence, and walked like I didn't have a care in the world. That is what guys are attracted to. If you're making fun of fat chicks, guys see you as insecure. Although, being that it is getting hot out, I wore short shorts and a tank top when I went out 2 weeks ago. I really "saw" myself when I walked by a dark window. That did it for me. I never thought to change my ways until I saw myself. I went shopping, spent a lot on organic and healthy foods, and have been feelings great since I started eating better. I couldn't believe after 2 days of eating good, my energy changed and stopped being so tired. I'll lose my weight, but people who pick on fat people...they'll always be ugly on the inside. :) My BF of 2yrs likes me having a big butt so hopefully that doesn't go down. He's almost 10 years younger than me, a great muscular body, a great job, and a very handsome face...doesn't hurt that he dotes on me constantly. Our sex life is amazing too.
