I believe in capitalism, but not in every aspect of every part of life. It makes sense that whoever makes the best cars out there should price them the way they want so people have options. But with things like healthcare--I don't think socialism is such a bad idea. Other countries do make it work. It is not impossible, but so many people have this horrible attitude toward socialism because countries where everything is socialized are yes, usually a nightmare. But I wouldn't mind socialized medicine, at least to some extent. This is where America can learn from other countries' models and figure out what works and what doesn't and where things can be improved.

It depends. I have used some that it just felt like I had put a wet washcloth on my face for 20 minutes and others made a big difference. My face responds well to hyaluronic acid face masks. Quality makes a difference too but it doesn't mean they have to be expensive. I have used to pretty inexpensive ones and received good results. I haven't used American masks though only Korean masks so far. I've heard snail masks are amazing but people with super sensitive skin should be hesitant to use them from what I am told. I have super super sensitive skin so I haven't tried them yet. I found a website with a good variety and nice prices that I like to order from. Some of the same masks in Ulta are double the price.

Most cultures like theirs best. But the US stands out for it's ignorance of other cultures, and what is going on in other places. When I was travelling a couple years back, everyone I talked to in Europe knew about the primary elections here, and who the major players were. How many Americans can name the Prime Minster of the UK, and know if she is liberal or conservative? 1 in 10?

I know a lot about other cultures. Have lived in China, had Filipino in-laws, been to many foreign countries in Asia, Europe and South America and the Caribbean. The takeaway is that every single culture believes it is superior to others. They don't all hate the U.S., in fact they admire us and want our financial stability and the things we own. They mostly don't want to give up their culture to get it. For instance, the Chinese thought we worked too hard - too many days and we retire too late in life. The South Americans couldn't believe we have such long work days because they like to nap. Europe want their long paid vacations and pay huge taxes so everyone can have free health care, but this means they have a lower quality of life overall and cannot own as much or drive as much (gas costs more and cars do also).

I never realized how little Americans know about other cultures until I moved out of the country. HOLY HELL, we are some idiots. I adapted pretty quickly and felt I knew a lot about the world going in. There was a lot of learning but it didn't shock me that much because I tend to have a lot more open mind. However, when speaking to family and friends back home or reading the comments of people online, I am in complete disbelief of their ignorance. We are held back so much in life because we are so closed off from the rest of the world. No wonder other countries feel about Americans the way they do. We could learn so much if we just took a step back and realized we could learn so much from other people across the globe. I think every culture could learn something from others.

Well, not skin color per se, but ethnicity. If you aren't a white man, BMI is pretty much not a good indicator of anything. Most people of Asian heritage have smaller bones and less musculature than say, Native Americans or people of African or Aboriginal descent. I have a good friend who is Japanese and she is 5'2" and weighs like 90 lbs and for her, it's an okay weight but I'm an inch taller and have to weigh at least 20 lbs more than that to even be at a minimally healthy weight. And even though BMI is NOT a measure of health, too many doctors treat it as such and categorize your health status based on that. It's time to get rid of it.

I have plenty of conservative friends that think Trump is vile and worthless and they are completely embarrassed by his representation for America.

Jesus H. Christ in a sidecar. Is there anybody left -anywhere- that can make a fucking compromise and stop looking at everything with such extreme viewpoints? Trump's an orange turd. All business people are bad. All liberals want to take your guns. All conservatives want to take your birth control. What the actual FUCK, people? Can we PLEASE start looking at people for ALL the things they are, instead of just one? Can we stop lumping people together into groups so they're easier to hate? I am so sick of it! And I am SO pissed off that we, as Americans, are just making it fucking worse! Is this really who we are? Jesus Fuck!

Trump makes the best deals. Like scamming a bunch of hardworking Americans out of their money by running a phoney university. And that's only one example. Many of the impending lawsuits against him from are people who worked for him that he just flat out didn't pay. I suppose it's easy to make a deal when you're ripping people off.

I honestly don't get the point of this confession other than that the OP thinks people in those countries are somehow inferior to Americans because of their country's sanitary infrastructure. I'm learning how to design septic systems, mound systems, and wastewater treatment facilities. I guarantee you that if your city didn't have a wastewater facility, you'd either have to figure out how to build your own personal septic system by yourself or poop in a ditch. I guarantee you that any one of us would pick option #2 especially if that's all anyone in that culture has ever known. Sorry, but that is NOT a good reason to hate people. But bigots will be bigots, I suppose.
