Went to the house of a woman who kept bragging that people can't tell that she has dogs. Um, aside from the nonstop yapping and the furballs covering your couches, floor, and rug?

Yes, you can wrap your pup in a Thunder Shirt or pjs for dogs (snug ones). It can really help them feel more secure. There are natural sprays that help too. There's also a soothing music CD that helped my dog a little. Good luck. Hugs to your sweet pup. It's so hard to watch them be afraid of something you can't control.

I've had good results with thunder spray. They also have jacket thingies for dogs that are supposed to keep them calm during storms.

I'm feeling good. Drinking my coffee with my smelly dog on my lap, reading a book. I don't work until 3 so I can relax for awhile before I straighten the house up. Dogs are shedding so we (my dh and I, not just me, I'm not the maid) vacuum and dust a couple of times a day. Dh got ds off to school so I slept in until 8. Made a yogurt parfait for breakfast. I wish the weather was nicer. When I got up the sun was out and was going to start cleaning the backyard (because even with a vagina I'm capable of doing yard work so dh doesn't have to do everything) but it started raining again. I laughed last night over some comment my dh made.

Maybe she knows human food isn't great for dogs?

My dog was pretty well trained, but she could be hit or miss when it came to performing certain behaviors, like "kiss." We met a little boy on a walk one day who told us that his dog was adopted, just like him. And that the dog had something on his side, and he hoped he got better soon. It was heart breaking to hear. He asked if my dog did any tricks, and I said we were working on "kiss." He got excited and wondered if she would kiss him. I sat her down in front of him (she was about as tall as he was when she was sitting), and he stood there, holding his breath - so excited! I told her to kiss...and she totally did! She licked his face! The little boy let out this very shaky breath. He was so so happy. I agree that dogs have a sense sometimes. I was so proud of her that day.

Who on earth would think someone is stuck up juat because they can't or don't want to eat hamburger meat? It's personal preference.. My mom won't touch it either but she's nowhere near a snob. Just doesn't like the taste. I feel the same about hot dogs and bratwurst. No one has ever judged me for it. You need some new frIends or something, that's just messed up!

Yesterday, DH and I walked with our dog to the drive-up ATM for the bank. We were waiting behind a car and there was a car behind us. After a while, the guy in the car behind us got out and came up to me. He explained that he had just lost his dog last week and he really missed him. My dog went up to him and gave him the closest thing to a hug I have ever seen her give. She kind of put her paw up on his arm and leaned into him. He was crying and and just hugging her back. It was all I could do to stop myself from bawling. I swear, dogs just know when we are having a hard time.

Recognizing faces is a very specialized ability. Meaning, most people have the ability, but it is not connected to recognizing anything else - like recognizing colors, dogs, clothing, etc. Check out prosopagnosia if you think you are bad at recognizing faces, and you'll find out tons about how the brain works. I have no ability to recognize faces (most people with prosopagnosia at least have a little), and people who never forget a face seem like magicians to me!

I think people with poor diets that put themselves and their children at risk for metabolic disorders are selfish, lazy, and/or willfully ignorant. I think people that have to drink to excess or smoke a bunch of weed in order to have a good time are boring as hell. I'm suspicious of people that don't like dogs, or music. I think I'm smarter and better looking than most people -where I live. Not than the general population. People that know me really well seem to like me. That's a whopping 3 or 4 people on Earth. I'm virtually impossible to get to know. I am not an honest person, not about who I really am or what I'm like. Except here, on this website, for some reason I'm pretty straightforward here. IRL I'm a stoic vault of a person.
