Oh, bullshit. I think all of us emotionally mature people understand that freaking out over emojis is silly, regardless of whether it's a man or woman. What kind of ridiculous argument are you trying to start? You just want to bully someone. And hell yeah, that guy sounds like he has a short fuse, which is a red flag. Op was just fooling around and instead of asking if she was being serious, he defaulted to anger... over emojis... in a fecking text message. That's messed up.

There was a case near me where someone put a service dog vest on a pet and took it everywhere. Then the dog attacked a kid or something because he wasn't actually a service trained dog. Also--any dog can be an "emotional support animal" which IMHO is BS and just another way for people to be able to take their pets everywhere. I saw someone bring their emotional support Lab into the computer lab on campus once and it peed by one of the computers. Seriously--unless you have a medical need for a service dog, leave the pets home.

I've been eating really poorly the past week or so with emotional eating many times. I'm going on an elimination diet with no sugar and carbs to hopefully feel better all-around. Wish me luck!

Op with the emotional affair from a while back. I f*#*ing hate not talking to him, at least privately. I have to see him sometimes because of my job. He has told me it’s really hard for him. He’s been going through some stuff and it hurts that I can’t be there for him, but I just can’t. I know I’m not “supposed to” care about him, but my heart is breaking. I want to be with him, but I need to be single. I wish I could be in my own place and date him. I’ve struggled with staying married for years. Unfortunately this is a terrible time to break out of my marriage. We have some huge family transitions going on right now. I know my judgement is being clouded by my feelings. For now, I’m just doing nothing, but missing him terribly.

My DH and I both have mental health issues that we absolutely didn't want to pass on to biological kids. I've also struggled with infertility. You would not believe how many people act so cavalier to us about adopting "Oh, if you adopt through the state, it's cheaper!" and "It would be so adorable if you had a little baby from Ukraine or China!". Like, buzz off?? Most of those kids have complex emotional issues that I don't know if I'm ready to deal with myself. I just--don't want kids of my own. I volunteer with kids. I have nieces and nephews. I like kids and want to teach them cool things and such, but I just don't want my own. People definitely do act like you're so selfish if you can't have kids but don't adopt someone else's.

This sounds like me. I have a very demanding job where I'm working non-stop from the minute I get in until the minute I leave. No lunch time; I eat at my desk throughout the day. My commute is 45 minutes in, an hour or more home. When I get home it's dinner, cleanup and whatever needs to get done around the house. By Saturday I'm completely worn out. If I don't have plans, I sleep in and laze around - I'm lucky if I get a load of laundry done. And if I do make plans, they have to be later in the day. Dh works around the country and is gone a lot, but when he's home, it's the same with him. On Sundays I/we sleep in and don't get going until around noon. We are both mentally, physically and emotionally spent and need the lazing around time to rest and recharge.

Shit. I think I’m getting into an emotional affair. There’s texting. No sexting, but flirting. We text daily. Secretly. I don’t have any other male friends that I communicate with on a daily basis. This is hard. I care pretty deeply about him, but I can’t do this. We’ve both said that, but we still keep talking. I don’t want to hurt him. I don’t want to mess up my family. We’ve discussed how we can’t be together & that we need to move on...but we don’t. It has turned to where he is always the one initiating the texting. I actually love it, but it can’t continue. What do I do? Ghost him? I don’t want to do that, but I don’t know what else to do.

I’ve posted a couple times about this guy. I’d been doing really well with hiding my wildly inappropriate feelings for him. (I’m married). That has changed. Both he & I ended up confessing we have strong feelings for each other. (Hed actually told me he loved me a few times before) Nothing physical happened, but he kept saying how bad he wanted to kiss me. We’ve also been texting a little bit. I’ve been stressed out like crazy over this. He could tell the next time he saw me. Another person said I looked “beautiful...but emotionally drained” right in front of him. We ended up having a painful/awkward/necessary/ somewhat relieving conversation where we decided to just be friends. We agreed that nothing should ever happen. He said that I don’t need this in my life. I told him I’m not cut out for lying & back stabbing. I think we just want each other more now.

Mine was the response post advising she get out any way she can. My exH married me, moved me 2000 miles away, and abused me mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially until I saved enough grocery money to take a midnight to a friend's house 250 miles away, and she loaned me the $ to get back home. I admit I wished him dead from time to time but made the move to get out (keeping $3-$5 a week and hiding it so he wouldn't find it wasn't easy). I'm not apathetic in the least! If you've been through it you understand. But I can tell you that just the act of preparing to leave can be very helpful. It means you have hope.
