My 10th anniversary is coming up. Im depressed, fat, tired, and just dont care. I have gained a lot of weight in the past few months, at least 8 or 10 pounds. No idea why, except maybe stress and I've been drinking more than usual. I didnt think a glass or 2 of wine a night would do this much damage. I feel disgusting, ugly, and i dont want my dh looking at me. I just want to sleep.

I got a bit of a health scare yesterday at my annual physical. My doctor said I probably need to go to a residential facility to treat my eating disorder. I've lost 4 lbs since last year and it's not like I had anything to lose then, so I'm quite underweight now. But not enough for my insurance to cover anything. I'd have to lose another 15 lbs or so until I got to that point and I don't know that I'd actually survive to get that thin. So if I go to treatment, I'll have to pay out of pocket and probably go bankrupt. But I would likely get my health back. I'm really having to make a tough decision right now.

I have a weird (or maybe not so weird) New Year's resolution--I am going to work to gain about 15 lbs of muscle. I want to start a lifting plan and get back to what I was at when I got married. I swear, the lower my weight gets the worse my body looks because I'm losing muscle and I just look scrawny but flabby at the same time. The plan is to reverse diet to keep my metabolism and slowly increase the amounts I'm lifting until I'm back where I used to be. I'm inspired by Missfitandnerdy on YouTube who did something similar and if she can do it, I can do it. Wish me luck!

Me too. I would actually be thrilled if my DH bought me a Peloton (actually, I want a Precor elliptical) and if he bought me something that nice, I'd be psyched. And I'm not fat, but I wouldn't take it as him insinuating that I needed to lose weight. You can exercise to gain weight too--if you have little muscle mass and you start working out, you may gain a few pounds of muscle right away just from the stimulation.

People should be able to post about their gifts if they want to. The only reason why kids would know about what their cousins across the country got is if their parents tell them. "Oh look Kyle, your cousin Ben got an Xbox and they're showing it off on Facebook to make you feel bad." Then Kyle feels bad because he thinks the best thing he got was some pokemon cards. These kids wouldn't feel so bad about other people getting "better" gifts if their parents weren't the ones telling them about it and also putting it in their head that an Xbox is better than Pokemon cards. What I'm getting at is people shouldn't have to hide their joy because others aren't happy. The only one who puts value on what you and others get is YOU. DH got me a few new shirts for Xmas (lost weight, most of my clothes don't fit now), I put more value in those shirts for me, because I need them, than a friend who is getting a new 65" 4K tv.

I can't believe the difference three weeks of eating vegan has made to my belly...just my belly, I'm losing a bit of weight all over but my stomach and waist are just flattening like crazy, even when I eat salty or sugary vegan junk I don't seem to bloat like I did. I must've had some mild intolerance to some type of animal product, and it can't be dairy because I really have only had oat milk in coffee for months now.

I have a giant "rock" in my stomach from being so sad the last few days. I am one of those people who can't eat when I'm depressed. I know I'm in the double digits for weight again and that's really dangerous for me, so I have to try to force myself to eat what I can. Grief and depression suck so much.

Our kitty was so sick this week. He's finally, finally feeling better. He is going to need to stay on antibiotics for two weeks and we have to help him gain some weight. The kicker is that we don't know what the vet bill will be because their computer system is down. I'm guessing it'll be $250-$500 or more. For a sinus infection. He's a lucky cat but I completely understand why so many people don't take their animals to the vet.

It's crazy to me the nutrition myths some people still believe. My MIL shames me for eating at night even though I have told her that it doesn't matter much when you eat as long as you stay within your calories (my night meal is usually a salad and some soup with bone broth and an apple). She still insists it causes diabetes. So...that's why she has diabetes and I have really great A1C and blood sugar levels I guess?? I swear, it's always fat people who give you advice about your weight. Why is that?? I mean, if whatever you're preaching works, are you following it?

My mother in law talks for hours about her diet and how she’s better because she eats no processed food and no sugar and blah. she repeats the same stuff every time we see her. Will diet-shame you and weight shame you even if you aren’t overweight. She’s orthorexic. She’s very preachy about it too.
