I never understood the whole sticker craze as a kid. I really find it odd that an adult might be into it. But hey, whatever floats your proverbial boat. I kind of get putting them on cards and letters and whatnot to go through the mail, but I kind of thought most people didn't do that sort of thing anymore. I thought emails, texts, facebook and amazon deliveries overtook that whole genre. What do I know, right?

While I hate the GoFundMe sites, I will say that I think it is SO COOL that you can do fundraisers for your favorite charity on Facebook for your birthday now. I'm going to set up a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association on my birthday because it has to be one of the worst diseases out there to deal with.

I have a family member whose in-laws house burnt to the ground. She started a GFM for them and posted it on Facebook. Literally NO ONE donated. Probably because people weren't entirely confident that she'd give them the money (including us). She's asked us for money several times for food or gas, and then like a week or so later, her dh posts a picture on FB of something expensive they bought. They'll go on an expensive trip and then a month later ask for money. Some people just can't be trusted. Shame, because her in-laws really needed the help.

I went to school with a short, scrawny, dorky, nerdy boy. No girls ever paid him any attention. He was literally the size of most girls’ little brothers. 15 years later, I came across him on facebook. Still looks the same. But his wife. OMG. My mouth fell open. Like a fucking Top 10 model. I’m happy for him, even though I wasn’t friends with him. High school must’ve been horrible for him, being invisible to all the girls. And his wife? Looks smitten. I love it when the universe gets it right.

The dorky but sweet dude that had a major crush on me in HS, that I never was interested in, that I didn't find attractive at all, is now my friend on facebook. 20 years after HS. He's still dorky looking, still a kind sweet dude, and now has a seriously smoking hot girlfriend. Like, WAY hotter than me. LOL, you go with your bad self, Chuckie.

THANK YOU for the reasonable post, OP of the "furious at the left" post. I'm a lefty but I'm sick of the screeching on Facebook where all Trump voters are portrayed as sick, racist, women-hating, cross-burning neo-fascists. Simply not true. Yes, there are wingnuts on the far ends of both sides who exhibit lunatic behavior. Don't categorize all based on a few.

It just occurred to me that never being able to remember important dates might be a good thing. People on facebook lamenting about "X years ago today, " something awful happened. Someone died, in particular. A lot of my relatives have died. Both my parents, all my grandparents.... I don't remember the dates of any of them. I will never be sad on some particular date because of something that happened that day. My mother died in the fall, and my father died in the winter. That's all I remember. I must be missing the sentiment gene or something because it doesn't bother me at all. Like maybe the first year, because it was relatively fresh but that's it. And I'm okay with that.

My friend is actually a horrible person. He’s friends with a couple and he suspects the man is cheating... man admits to marriage problems, woman texts friend asking what she should do... asks friend if man and him have been to the gym this week because he’s out till 11 every night and says that’s where he is and who he is with. Friend hasn’t seen man since last week. We spent the whole day arguing about if he’s going to tell her and he’s standing by his “i don’t want to be the one to ruin their relationship” and flat out lied to woman. He is covering for this guy despite having been in the wife’s position in the past, his own wife cheated on him. This also isn’t the first time I have had to twist his arm to tell someone the truth because he doesn’t want to be the bearer of bad news. I don’t know the woman, but I’m tempted to message her on Facebook and tell her that friend hasn’t seen her husband in over a week.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to see who likes a post on facebook. I have an old high school friend who posts and likes her post at the same time and it shows up 'XX likes this post.'
