I've bought audio books for people who are losing their eyesight. They really loved them. To OP whose grandma is losing her sight, try getting her some on CDs and make sure she has an operating CD player to play them.

I have put two books on hold at the library about clothing in the Middle Ages. I should have researched before posting... I'll blame it on being distracted by the Flagellents. And wine, lol. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. This topic seems very interesting.

I think anybody, perfect-mom or ha-ha-I'm-so-sloppy mom, who has a blog they take seriously writes behind some sort of facade. Blogs are all about brand, branding is what sells products, books, and gets you your own TV show. Picture perfect mom actually has a sloppy messy life and Sloppy mom is trying to get every joke and post perfect.

So I stop posting on Facebook for a week because I'm fairly tired of 'teh Facebooks," and I'm contemplating deleting my account. You freak out and send an equally "I'M FREAKED OUT! WHERE ARE YOU?!" message, so I respond and tell you I've been going through some things and taking a break. Then, a week later, I check in with you, and you claim to be "so relieved" to hear from me. I reply with thanks for caring--let's get together and catch up. I still haven't herard back from you. I check Facebook just for the hell of it, and I see you're posting any and everything about your personal life, but you haven't bothered to check back in with me, now that you're sure I'm alive. Yet, another time when I'm giving to a person, and that person simply takes and does not giving back, but when they finally notice I'm no longer paying attention to them, they freak. I think this is the beginning of the end of our brief seven-month friendship. Thanks for nothing.

I just bought my 21 y/o niece and 16 y/o nephew coloring books for Christmas. My niece is getting Dancing with Jesus and my nephew is getting Dinosaurs with Jobs. I love that they are getting older and I can get them funny stuff now. I think I might get Unicorns are Jerks for my niece's boyfriend.

The tampon tax is on pads as well as tampons it's just called the tampon tax because it is catchier, and not every woman can use reusables like menstrual cups...shelling out several months worth of disposable products on an item that might not work for you isn't really an option for a lot of low income women. "Your DH" having to shave for his work is not the same thing as the entire menstruating population of females needing to buy disposable products. ALL menstruating women need to use products for that purpose, not ALL men need to shave for their jobs (and FYI, in highly professional jobs where shaving is necessary, you can bet high standards will be placed on women's appearance too) In a lot, items that are considered necessary are subject to a tax cut. Books are also taxed at the lower rate. Menstruation products are a necessity. Whilst books are most certainly important, they are hardly as essential as sanitary products.

My sister and my aunt try to make me feel bad about getting books from the library. They are always telling me that they BUY their books and I should too. Whatever--I'm not stealing them or anything. I don't always love every book I read, so why would I buy them all and end up hating some of them? That's why I check them out from the library. Plus, I do buy some books but I read so much that if I bought all of the ones I read, I'd be broke.

Anybody remember Dr. Laura? I read one of her marriage books, and she brought up what I thought was a good point about making sure you leave some energy (as in, for sex) for your husband. Why should he get what's leftover in you after everything and everyone else? And sure, sometimes you're not 100% into it, but you can "get" into it for him because it's rare now that the planets align for us both to be tearing clothes off. Sometimes I'm just like, let's just take care of you, quick and easy, everyone's happy. Not defending Michelle Duggar, I have no idea what she said, just seemed related to me.

My dating profile: president of corporation that provides my living, author of many published books, world traveler, trainer, former staff of university, for fun I like to ski downhill and cross country. Accomplishments: great cook (gourmet and eastern European), have made some furniture from scratch, raised 5 kids, change oil in my car. Hate farmer's markets except to go and buy fresh local vegetables, I know how to make any vegetable delicious. Hate walking on the beach (boring) and love all kinds of music. I can do the waltz and tango as well as the fox trot. And oh, I can play the guitar pretty well too. And make speeches advocating for victims of domestic violence.
