I guess I need to learn how to clean when DH is around (we're retired). He left three hours ago on a five-day motorcycle ride, and so far I've waxed all the kitchen cabinets and appliances, cleaned the storage shelves in the laundry room, cleaned out two closets, cleaned two bathrooms and scrubbed kitchen and bathroom floors. Tomorrow I shop! :-)

My MIL and FIL are remodeling their kitchen and--gasp--she is FINALLY getting rid of some of her crap! But...she emails me and my SILs every single day asking us if any of want her old griddle, old toaster, old juice glasses...etc. It's all 50 years+ old and it's not like it's high quality. It's just, well, junk. We all have told her to just donate it or throw it out. I have a feeling she'll donate it--she doesn't think that anything is ever garbage.

When I read these confessions about how bad life sucks and they wish it would end, all I see is you have a job, you have a family, you don't live in a war torn hell hole. Go find somebody worse off than you, and see what you can do to make their life better. Old people in lonely nursing homes, soup kitchen. If you think your life is so bad, go see someone who wishes they had it. It might help you feel better and help the other person.

Non-helplessness around the house and kitchen are exactly the biggest turn on during dating - I could never marry a man that couldn't demonstrate any kind of competence in either area (not cooking, per se - but washing dishes, perhaps?!)

When we were dating, DH's helplessness around the house and kitchen was sort of cute to me. Now, it's annoying as hell.

Dd's last day is 7/31. I'm kicking her out. She came home drunk at 4am the other night, woke me up, made a mes in the kitchen. I've never known anyone who is so drama filled. She has 2 jobs now again, but didn't pay us the measly $250.00 rent. She's 26 years old. She's been back living with us since the end of February. I feel kinda guilty, but I can't take her not helping clean, not paying her rent, and doing whatever she wants. But she'll sit there and say, "I didn't do anything." She has her own apartment for 4 or so years, but decided partying was more important. Good riddance.

My MIL is remodeling her kitchen and FIL is trying to convince her to throw out or recycle some of the 8902 old cool whip bowls, old margarine tubs, and old ice cream buckets she has stored in there. My DH is afraid she only wants more cupboard space so she can fill them with more old food containers.

Dh, (dick head) didn't want to hire a plumber or call any of his plumber friends to fix a leaking bathroom sink and kitchen sink. He's trying to fix the bathroom sink now. Ugh. He's cussing and yelling and he smells! He hasn't showered in a few days. He wanted me to help him but the bathroom stunk like his crappy feet! I hope the sink falls on his head. I hope he has a crappy Father's day. He doesn't deserve anything good.

I need to get away today. We lost power last night. So the house is a mess with flash lights and the 3 candles. Takes two seconds to put these things away. He's hoovering behind me as I'm sitting at the kitchen table. Talking to me like I'm slow. And accused me of stealing his battery powered phone chargers cord. I told him it had no cord. "Yes it does and it's a white cord that you lost" I used his black cord to keep his phone charged! I apparently felt the need to hid/steal the white one. So I told him I'm going to a friend's for awhile. He said why you don't need to go anywhere. Wtf.

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a crock pot or not. Are they worth it? I don't see how a crock pot would be any better than putting the food in a pot with a lid and leaving it on the stove with a flame tamer (gas stove) to spread the heat. First world problems, I know, but is a crock pot that awesome that it's worth having another piece of kitchen gear around? I hate clutter. TIA!
