I so appreciate my friend being accommodating of me being gluten-free and vegan now. But it feels a little uncomfortable when she says that we can just eat where I want all the time. We used to have such fun picking restaurants to try together, but now I think that she thinks I can only eat in all-vegan restaurants. I think she's so afraid to get it wrong for me, that she's gone a little too far. And I think it's very kind, but just not as much fun as it used to be. Gonna try and change that on our upcoming trip together. Restaurants for omnivores can still serve stuff for me, and we can still have a bangin' time! Let's do this!

Dh and I went to dinner at a restaurant. Hostess takes us to our seat and says "J will be your server tonight..." and as she said it, J walked past and said "Nope. I am done. Outta here". Hostess turned red and said "Um ok, K will be your server. Can I get you some drinks?" I thought it was very unprofessional of J to say that to the hostess in front of us--if it had been me, I would've taken the drink order, told K in private that she was taking over my table, then left. Thoughts?

I hate cooking. I do it because it's economical and healthier but I derive no joy from it. if I could afford to eat good restaurant food for the rest of my life (and not get fat) I'd do so in a heartbeat.

Hahah, Spectra...Taco Hell. Yes, I went there (after the gym and the restaurant was under construction...kinda sad). Eww, plastic bag?! I've gotten hair in my food when eating out more often than I can count!

Cannot stand it when I'm in a restaurant and see a parent let their child have a soda at breakfast.

I was going to ditch work today so I could take my car to fix my windshield wipers, oil change, and a motor for my window but then I remembered my manager was taking my team to lunch to my favorite seafood restaurant to celebrate a coworker's upcoming nuptials so I hurried up and got dressed and came to work! I hate missing a good, free meal!

It amazes me how often our orders end up incorrect at drive through restaurants too. We pretty much only ever eat Sonic anymore (once in a great while). The food is always fresh/correct and drinks are the best.

She literally has no place to go, it is small town KS. There is no shelters. There is a restaurant & grocery store. The town is full of his relatives (who she loves and adores which makes this even more awful.) She can come to me, but it's driving 2+ hours one way daily. I am here with open arms if she wants to do that. She is so close to the end, I told her just do whatever she can to get by and I am here to help. I wish I could afford a hotel for her, I'd do it.

My husbands aunt is vegan and if he or I mention anything about a BBQ or a restaurant or eating meat or anything meat-eating related (not that we do post about that sort of thing much, etc) she tells us we should eat our pet dog, cause it's the same thing.

I think a lot of it is the expectation the parents put on the kids at the restaurants--if the parents expect the kids to behave and don't put up with any crap, I think the kids kind of get the hint that they have to be good at a restaurant. My sister has tons of issues with her kids because she just expects that they're going to act like hooligans and never even tries to discipline them. They actually behave when they go to restaurants with me though--because I tell them they have to act like human beings and not circus animals.
