I have noticed that church people are often the meanest. I was following up with a customer at my job and he got nasty with me for no reason. Just for the heck of it, I googled his name. He is a retired church pastor. I am a Christian and I do not go to church.

Spent some time with a dear friend. I love her, but I don't love the "I'm so good, and I'm so Christian, and that's why I have so many blessings" attitude. She thinks she's being an example by sharing her message, but it comes across literally as holier than thou, as if everyone else is doing it wrong because they don't have all the blessings in life that they want. It just really rubs me the wrong way.

Trying to explain to my very Christian friend that I just want to date around and sleep with men as I please. And she wants to know what that will fix, and why would I want to get hurt? Um, I'm not trying to "fix" anything! I'm not looking for a husband, just connections, and maybe I'll find some fantastic connections and won't always be "hurt."

Nobody thinks all anti-abortion people are Christians, it's just that we expect atheists to have more sense.

Why does everyone think that all the anti-abortion folks are Christian? I consider myself an atheist, and I am anti-abortion. It has nothing to do with religion.

2 in-laws, different, but yet the same. One is an atheist lesbian vegan, the other a straight Christian with old-fashioned values. They both seem opposite, yet it's interesting to observe them. They judge each other so much in the same way, and sometimes others. They complain to others about the other one and what they do, but you might as well be listening to the same one - it's uncanny how they sound exactly the same. I don't know if you'd call it irony, but it floors me how much they complain about each other for the exact same thing that they do themselves.

I honestly don't know why Christians these days focus so much on homosexuality and abortion. I'm assuming it's because they're very politically charged topics, but it's also just a way for them to hate on people "in the name of God". I think that if Jesus were here today, he'd be especially kind to everyone who is bullied, poor, gay, transgendered, homeless, etc. and would probably be really upset with the so-called religious groups we have. If you read about when he was here on Earth, it was basically the same thing--he was nice the people that everyone thought were trash and the church leaders at the time were more obsessed with stoning people for things than showing them love. I think this is part of why I struggle with organized religion. I just don't think it's very easy to find any religious groups that seem to be on the same page as Jesus was.

If you can't have any compassion for a drug addict, don't call yourself a Christian. You have overcome drug addiction, it took you many years to get this strong. Show empathy for those that just got onto the road to recovery.

I don't understand why some people who call themselves Christians in this country are so obsessed with abortion and birth control and gay rights. There are so many other things the Bible says to worry about and doesn't even mention those things. Seems disingenuous and insulting to real Christians.

I had to check out that One Million Moms site just to see what it was all about. Wow. These ladies claim to be Christians?? They claim Frito Lay hates Christians because they made rainbow Doritos to support an anti-bullying campaign for the LGBT community? Um, ok...
