Exactly. Regardless of whose "fault" it is when people find themselves in a bad situation, it is still their responsibility to do whatever they can to change- if they want to. Any suggestions of changing things or steps one can take to rectify or even avoid the situation is not welcome and immediately shamed as victim blaming.

Was that cute guy in the parking garage checking me out? Maybe I looked badass schlepping my bike into my car. Haha I haven’t seen any cute guys at work since Covid so this is welcomed!

Or maybe your CW has a physical illness like IBS, Crohn's, UC, IBD, celiac disease, etc. that gives them a bad reaction to some foods and they can't always predict when they'll have to go. I get that it's not pleasant for you, but most people aren't like, going out of their way to make you miserable. And it's not like you can be the food police and govern what they should/shouldn't eat--that's not your business either.

Overspending H has gotten us into a bad position. His credit cards are still sky high because he won't stop charging (he tries to say it's because of interest charges), and he has NO savings. Now he's hurt his back and isn't able to work for a couple weeks. DS and I took money out of OUR personal checking accounts as well as our joint savings (which is for college costs!) to cover the bills H can't pay this month. (I work and pay several bills as well as all groceries, toiletries, household goods and whatever the pets need. DS pays for his phone bill, gas, clothes, textbooks and other food.) I'm so angry.

My friendtold me he tried to kill himself. This would be his second attempt. And I feel bad for him I really do, but part of me thinks he’s just doing it (or maybe not even doing it and saying he did) for attention. Before his attempt he and his FWB he has feelings for had been drifting apart due to their schedules not lining up and I have been busy so we don’t talk as much as we used to. After his attempt she spends every free second with him and I’m getting the cold shoulder, I think because I didn’t make as big a deal out of it as he would like. But honestly, he won’t see a therapist, won’t take the antidepressants his dr prescribed him with any regularity, and for some reason I feel like if he really wanted to go he would have figured out why it didn’t work the first time he took pills before taking them again, or try something else. But I would never say that to him in case he is legit suicidal, I’ll just do my best to be as supportive as I can when he chooses to talk to me.

DH has never been a good gift giver. I’ve decided to stop waiting for him to miraculously learn how to give good gifts. So for my birthday, I scraped together all my credit card points, redeemed them for gift cards to a department store, and bought myself some ridiculously expensive bedsheets. I’ve been mentally resisting and pooh poohing these bedsheets like you’d do with a bad idea like having an affair. I even read magazine reviews about them that describe the agony of trying to enjoy and not damage horrendously expensive sheets. But oh, they are so worthwhile. And, sort of like with an affair, the guilty secretive pleasure makes them just that much more enjoyable.

My dad hates Trump, like me. My mom is not the most mentally stable person, and she definitely falls into the category of "crazy Trumpet." I was asking my dad about how badly the deferment of the payroll tax is going to hurt me at the end of the year. We weren't bashing Trump at all; my dad, an account, was explaining to me what the tax deferment means to me, and the rest of the country. My mom suddenly exploded and started cussing and freaking out. She stormed out of the room after telling me and my dad to fuck off. It was just so insane and volatile. My dad said she did the same thing to my sister last week. I'm going to stay away from her until after the election.

From what I've seen, she is not having any bad morning sickness or anything major. Especially since she seems to have plenty of energy to go to the zoo and the lake with her other kid. And if she DOES have a problem doing her job, she needs to talk to HR and figure out how to work PT or go on leave. It's not fair for her to show up to work and slack off and expect the rest of us to pull the slack and have her still collecting full pay. Sorry, but I'm really effing sick of pregnant women taking advantage of their non-pregnant coworkers and it being considered OK. Just because some people don't want kids/aren't having babies anymore/etc, doesn't mean they should have to do the lion's share of the work.

This is the world now. I've seen several posts like that, and my thoughts were...how sad. Our economy was bad enough in that most families need two incomes to survive, and not everyone can save a lot. So many people were struggling as it was, and then COVID hit. People were losing hours or their jobs. Yep, there's unemployment, but there are thousands of people who are STILL waiting for it to come through. And in a lot of cases, UC isn't enough to pay the bills, etc., and they're getting further and further behind. For those with children who are going back to work/school, now they're in a pickle. I'm so grateful that I'm not in this position, and feel bad for those who are. At least they're trying to pay SOMETHING. I see a lot of posts looking for free childcare.
