I'm just tired of the taxes shit, if it was just about the mental illness thing, then I probably wouldn't have said anything. As someone with really severe ADHD and several other mental health issues, I was unemployed for years until I managed to find a way that worked with my mental health issues, and I am sick and tired of hearing how people like me are just a drain on the system and don't deserve help just because we're not walking around with one leg after the other was blown off in Afghanistan. It's really annoying being told that I'm not really unwell and that healthcare services are only for people with "real issues." These people would rather rant about people being a "drain on the system" when the system is exploitative as fuck and people are scrambling for change. Pretty sure I have a right to vent that too.

In our small Programs Department this past month, a coworker transferred to our team (Yaye for a brief time of 3 FT employees including me and 1 PT) but then our Director of 4 yrs suddenly left, and now our PT staff very abruptly left one of the programs she was managing. She still wants to help with another one TBD, but okay wtf with these major changes. Now our team is only 2 FT and one PT. I’m the only one that hasn’t experienced direct title change, but all these Dept changes are impacting. Since I’ve now been on the team the longest, I feel a huge burden to hold the team together amidst all these major changes, but I’m barely holding on myself especially when it comes to my mental health. I hardly slept last night because I have major anxiety about a meeting today to discuss moving forward with Exec Dir. and Deputy Dir. we are promoting from within. I truthfully don’t know how this will work out, but I know they expect me to provide leadership.

It can be exhausting being around someone with mental illness. Just let her vent. And, yes, I have mental health diagnoses of my own.

Another aspect to this is pushy showbiz parents or the modern equivalent, family vloggers who force their kids to be online ALL the time. I actually know someone who was a very minor "child star" in the late 80s, 90s and she just cut off all contact with her family. She also has total arrested development issues because she was never allowed to just be a kid, even though she managed to avoid the drug/anorexia/mental health spiral so many fall down. She feels like her parents used her for money so they didn't have to work, and I wonder how many family vlogger kids will feel the same when they grow up. Even if you manage to get rich and famous for life, I'm not sure it's a substitute for not having a childhood, judging by what has happened to so many kid stars in the past.

A girl who fakes like she's my friend, who I know talks crap about me, is on my FB friends list. I deleted her long ago after she said some really messed up things out of the blue many years ago. I'm obese. The last time she saw me I was 50lbs heavier. Not long ago her & her DH were having a tag conversation about him loving how skinny she is and hates fat chicks, even though he is obese as well as ugly (he makes great money). She found a picture on FB of a woman who was clearly over 2x my size, but she tagged him and told him that's how fat I am. They both laughed about it. She's always cruel for no reason. I don't delete her because she's entertaining. Total trainwreck, mentally unstable, bipolar/crazy, and bad things are always happening to her. I like seeing Karma get her back. It was public then deleted, but her DH was talking to another woman and she went nuts, then the next day he was back to being the most perfect man ever. If her life was so great she wouldn't be an alcoholic.

You're also paying for obesity, smokers, people with depression who are self-harming or attempting suicide, Viagra, careless drunk drivers who end up in smashes, extreme sports people who nearly kill themselves in the mountains or whatever. As has already been stated, if your mother is a diagnosed hypochondriac, it's a mental illness which she needs help for. You don't get to pick and choose who your taxes go to help. Really, you should be worrying about the far larger portion of tax going to line the pockets of corrupt politicians who then let billionaires away with paying their actual taxes which would pretty much solve everyone's healthcare issues.

There are a couple patients where I work that suck up the doctors' time with their hypochondria. It's so frustrating. Sorry, ma'am, but, no, I can't get you in today. Doctor is busy seeing patients with potentially life-threatening illnesses. Then, when they insist they're dying, they get upset when told to go to the ER. I realize the attention seeking is part of the mental illness, but holy shit, they're lucky they haven't been fired from the practice for non-compliance and mistreating the staff during their histrionic fits.

Hypochondria is actually a mental illness, that's why you don't "get the mindset." There are reasons behind the behaviour, including childhood illness or trauma. Try replacing "hypochondria" with "anxiety," "depression" or "schizophrenia" in those first couple of sentences and see how that makes you sound. Like a bit of a dick, let's be fair.

I really need to take the time to take care of myself. I do not want to breakdown at work. Last time I relapsed and just powered through work like nothing was wrong, but it resulted in some work missteps. I'm hoping that stepping away for a week will help my mental health a lot. I will focus on eating balanced meals, getting enough sleep/exercise, and working on a treatment plan.

I didn't have the greatest relationship with my mom always. She was really judgmental and really wanted my sister and I to be very, very successful. When I moved out and got married, she didn't want to come visit me ever. Her personality changed somewhat when she got sick but I think at the beginning of her illness, she really apologized to us a lot for being the way she was while we were growing up. I did forgive her, but not for everything. She's gone now but I still wish I'd had more time with her when we were on good terms. I hate that most people don't want to change and be nicer until they're about to die.
