Just read a story about a guy who graduated from Stanford, and had multiple complaints against him for sexual assault, that the university didn't do anything about. My question is, why are the police not called on these situations? If it was some other crime, one would call the police. Why is it that they are not brought in for criminal charges etc???

That bank robber? He mowed his grandma's lawn, fixed up old toys for poor kids, and donated a ring he stole to the Salvation Army. He's still in jail, though, since the police had no patience even for a wonderful person who just happened to break a law. Guess they're supposed to turn a blind eye to illegal aliens, though. That must be a good thing, because the bank robber's grandma needs someone to mow her lawn now.

I posted awhile back about my ds/15 getting caught smoking weed with his friend, at his friend's house. Me and the kids mom got into it too. My ds told me that some of his other friends couldn't believe how much I tripped out. Are you kidding me? Are parents letting their kids smoke weed?? I honestly can't believe the things parents let their kids do. Drugs and alcohol are a big no no for me and my kids. If they choose to do them, I will discipline them, call the police on them, etc.....

The riot in Germany was not about the attacks it was just an excuse for a bunch of racists to get together, however I think it's extremely unfair to say that Europeans haven't done anything about it, also inaccurate. The police chief in Cologne has been fired and several immigration and deportation laws are being revised, we aren't sitting diddling ourselves and doing nothing, we are very upset and angry. We most certainly are not too "PC" to do anything about violence against women (how does that even make sense, it goes against PC). If you're going to point fingers, it's not too hard to pick holes in treatment of women in the US either. In fact Germany is far higher in the list of best places for women to live than the US is (13 to 28 to be precise) Sweden where a number of attacks took place is no. 1, and 13 of the top 20 are European countries, according to the global gender gap report. We all have a long way to go for women's rights, and we are not taking what happened lying down.

My DH is bipolar and has a history of violence, but he's got no police record (yet). Today he bought an M-44 at an estate auction and took it home right from there. They claimed they were doing a background check, but they basically took people's word when they said they had no criminal record. So...if they actually do the background check, the people with the criminal records now have guns. This sort of private selling is a huge part of the gun control problem. They are supposed to run background checks and they most of the time do not.

I started watching Making of a Murderer, even though it is a trigger for me. At first, I thought for sure the detectives were setting Avery up. With my friends murder, the police totally fucked up. The new detectives have admitted that the old detectives totally screwed the pooch. However, I think Avery absolutely committed that murder. It just doesn't add up and too many signs point back to him.

I'm not sure how many people are watching "Making a Murderer" but I watched it and I totally think that Steven Avery killed Teresa Halbach. They didn't mention all the other evidence--like how he bought leg irons a few weeks before her murder. The same leg irons that were found at the murder scene, I'm sure. I'm also pretty sure the police screwed up the investigation a good bit, but I think a lot of it was just laziness on their part.

My attorney said that when my abuser ex raised his voice to me to tell him to stop it or I'd call the police. Then do it. This is advice that cost me $300 per hour. Do with it what you will.

So police killed more people in 2015 than regular murders. So yes I will teach my kids to be afraid of police. I'm glad cell phones and the recent media has been showing what minorities have known all along.

You know what makes me sad for the world? That parents of black children (especially black boys) have to teach them that they can't walk with their hoods up and hands in their pockets. That when they are playing a game of hide and seek with their friends, they have to be sure not to hide in a neighbor's yard in case they are assumed to be a criminal. That they have to teach young children what to do when confronted by police. That is sick and sad. But that is still the world we live in today. If you've never left the house a night afraid that you were going to be stopped by police, if you're not afraid you'll be shot if you knock on someone's door, then congratulations; you are the proud beneficiary of white privilege. It is still alive and well.
