I am a Christian, and I will never understood how a Christian could support Republicans right now. How can you be so concerned about killing unborn babies but be totally OK with letting people die because they are poor, black, immigrants, etc. I know people who have died because they didn't have insurance, yet the Republicans continually make health insurance harder and harder to get. I know someone whose pregnancy killed her. Republicans by and large support the death penalty. I just don't understand how people can claim to be "pro-life" and then turn a blind eye when people other than babies die. Worse yet are the ones who celebrate some people dying because they think they somehow deserved it.

Same here. It was drilled into our heads that Republicans were Christian because they cared about the unborn babies. I didn't wake up from that brainwashing until I realized it was a crock of crap and that Democrats are usually the ones who care more about human rights.

It has taken me an embarrassing amount of time to understand that I don't have to vote Republican just because I'm a Christian. That has been drummed into me since I was old enough to read, and now I'm finally starting to branch out and think for myself.

I’m very pro guns. I’m also ultra Christian and fully believe that the lord decides our fate. If a woman becomes pregnant, she should not tamper with god’s will. If she has full faith in the lord, she and her child will be safe. Mind you, I’m a really good person because I believe this. Since I am so devout in my belief, the lord will keep me safe. If someone breaks into my home, it wouldn’t be tampering with god’s will if I shot them, cause god & I are pals. Just don’t know where god was when this guy broke in to begin with...probably busy damming some woman. God’s cool with me stepping in when it comes to me. I know what god wants. This is sarcasm of course.

I write press releases for our organization sometimes. I asked someone in our working group for a quote, which she sent to me. It ended up having a lot of references to Christianity in it. As a public org it's best for us to be neutral, so I told her I that I respected her beliefs but needed to ask her if she would feel comfortable with me editing the quote or would she rather I ask someone else. She said she did not want to edit it and I told her I respected that. Four days later she texts me at 10:30 pm to tell me how much this offended her. I told her It had nothing to do with her beliefs or mine- only my desire to do our communications work up to the highest standard, that she is entitled to her feelings but that I stand by my decision. I get really tired of slapping a smile on my face and thanking people for their feedback. I have feelings and beliefs too, but I'm a professional. I'm proud of the fact that I was able to validate her feelings without apologizing for doing my job.

Them trump supporters really are delusional. Most are Christian but they worship that man to no end and he’s not even close to a prophet in the grand scheme of things. And they look pretty stupid right now defending him, again,,to no end...about his injecting disinfectant and he turns around and says he was only being sarcastic. LOL Fucking idiots.

Kanye West is like a study of bipolar disorder. I sincerely hope Kim and the kids are okay, because he's getting worse. He wants to change his name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West. He's not okay.

I'm sick of hearing about how we have to change the climate. LOLOLOL. The climate has always changed and always will. As for man's contribution to that, don't tell me what to do. Tell China what to do. They are the worst polluting nation on the planet (not to mention their awful human rights record, imprisoning Muslims in the equivalent of concentration camps, persecution of Christians, and controlling what their citizens know). Of course they buy lots of Nikes and love basketball, so let's forgive them and let them pollute.

DH's parents constantly ask us to go to church with them. I am Christian, but I'm not their specific religion. I want to tell them "As soon as your church stops being judgy assholes to anyone who isn't like them and stops extorting members for tithe money, maybe I'll consider it. Until then, I'm good".
