You heard this. Where? You heard Trump say he was trying to start WWIII? Where? My point is that there is a lot of fake news out there, much of it to bring Trump down. Some idiots cannot see that if Trump is brought down, there will be a long period of instability. And Mike Pence will be president. Why would anyone want to cause this? Think, people. We are used to having a stable democracy but it is not guaranteed. Let the process work. Trump will be gone in 4 years if that's what the people want.

I'm starting to get really annoyed with these people who are talking about the Resistance Movement and putting signs in their yards. Don't they get it that their reaction doesn't help anything? This is a democracy. We had a free election and the process worked as it was designed to do. Trying to disenfranchise the Republicans and Trump hurts all of us. We are not some banana republic where you stir up trouble until someone gets killed. I'm going to block these idiots on FB.

You could really educate your children that if their candidate didn't win, that's life. It's democracy. Just cause the media demonizes a candidate who wins doesn't mean you should be scared. Scared of what? The US has a constitution that ensures checks and balances. It works. It will continue to work. Explain THAT to these freaked out idiots. Jeez.

You have to vote for the lesser of two evils. That is unfortunately democracy. Other forms of government are way worse, though.

Not taking in refugees has little to do with thinking we are better than others. It has to do with what is in the US's national interest. We should always reach out to help others, but not when it could lead to destruction of our country by admitting those who want to destroy it. There is no sure way to keep out jihadists who come in with fake Syrian passports, and they can buy perfect ones for $2000 (reported on PBS News). Think of it like this - if the United States is brought down, and it no longer has wealth and the military means to protect itself and other smaller countries like we now protect, there is no one else to help on the scale that we do. No other democracy can do what we do. And we sure as hell want a democracy doing it, not China or Russia and their allies.

China is colonizing Africa and providing infrastructure. They import their own labor much of the time. They want Africa's resources. They also want to remove a large part of their population to another continent so as not to have to feed them. China is grabbing offshore Pacific islands to use as bases. When China consolidates all these moves, China will have 2 continents. China will never be a democracy. I guess we should all learn Chinese and look forward to the day when we are all equal under Marxism, i.e., no one has much.

Fracking, to me, is proof that "democracy" is a sham. No-one wants it, there is massive public outcry. Three quarters of British people oppose it. And in the US it's about a 50/50 split. How is it democracy to force through something that only half, down to 25% of the population, supports? Rich white guys will continue to make each other rich and who gives a fuck what the little people think.

Fuck fracking. Nobody wants it, and nobody in the government is willing to listen. It's really amazing that people think we live in a democracy. Politicians do whatever the fuck they like. They proved that during the massive opposition to the Iraq war. Getting pretty sick of feeling so powerless and like my vote is wasted.

I'm OP of the post about the prep school scholarships. The scholarships may have officially been "confidential," but everyone knew who the scholarship students were. You could tell by where they lived, the way the parents dressed, what the parents did for a living, and other ways. Many of those scholarship students did very well and went to good colleges. Their grades had to be excellent and they had to pass an admission exam just like every other student in order to get into the prep school. No one resented them or as far as I know made them feel beholden for their good fortune. They made the school proud. But as a white person, I found it disturbing that whites weren't afforded the same wonderful opportunity. The school was pushing "diversity." Maybe that was the reason. A private school isn't a democracy, so their choice of scholarship students and how they were chosen remained private.
