Am i the only one that couldn't give two shits about anything Game of Thrones related? Have never seen any of it, no desire to either.

yeah - what 60096 said - I can only eat about 1200-1400 calories a day to maintain - I don't desire to, nor have the time to work out every day. (I manage 1-2x per week) It's not "near starvation" - we just need a lot less food than we think! And I am an active person and walk about 1 hr per day for my commute. I am also 50 yo. so my metabolism is lower. I work to maintain about 118lbs at 5'5.5" and basically feel like i can eat almost nothing each day - I can't splurge often.

I had friends telling me I should have a kid up until my late 40's! I seriously don't get people's need to tell you "you should have kids, you'd be such a great mom". Well, that's all good and dandy except for one small thing - I NEVER WANTED KIDS! I STILL DON'T! Why is that so weird for people to understand? I'd probably be a "great" accountant too, since I'm good with math. But I have no desire to be one so I never pursued that as a career. See? Same thing. Can you imagine being hounded to be an accountant even though you don't want to be one? It's just as weird.

It is just a basic fact that all the gains gotten by women, gays, minorities have come at the expense of men. This combined with the disappearance of fields of work men had for decades resulted in feelings of anger and betrayal and a desire for wanting things to go back as they were. Hence Trump.

I wish I had some wonderful advice for you, but I'm trying to figure it out also. I was just thinking the other day how I'll probably be struggling with depression for the rest of my life, and I'm already 60. Was I expecting to outgrow it or what? Mine comes and goes, and has never been bad enough where I wanted to take medication, but I still sink down to a dark place and wait for it to pass. In those times I don't want to talk to anyone and I end up isolating. My energy is usually very low at that time, but if I can force myself to exercise that is really helpful for me. I've read so many books on finding happiness, living a fulfilling life, books on faith, etc, and I'll always read self-improvement books and desire to grow as a person. I have a good life, job, hobbies, interests, many good friends, a loving family, and hoping to find love once again. But in the meantime, I'll continue to fight depression whenever it decides to rear it's ugly head. Hope you can find your peace. Hugs

My husband screwed the pooch last Christmas, when the only thing he gave me was a sailor moon tshirt (I've never watched that show and have no desire to watch it), but he totally redeemed himself this year. A new phone, laptop, and tablet. He's officially getting a new grill for his bday. A nice one, too.

I agree about the counseling, but I don't think it's any form of autism. When I googled it, he has no symptoms of it. He's had the same job for 20+ years, is very social and has alot of friends. He would never sit at home alone on a weekend or ever isolate himself. In every other aspect of his life he's "normal". He's close with his family, no childhood trauma. He just cannot communicate on a deeper level than superficially, with me, and has no desire to.

I've said it once and I'll say it again; if you're a kid in a costume, you're getting candy, regardless of where you came from. If you're an adult or teen who's not dressed up, but you're standing on my porch expecting a handout, you get a Tootsie roll. One single, shitty, stale, hard to chew Tootsie roll. If you can't be bothered to dress up, I can't be bothered to give a shit about your desire for sugar. Don't try to change my mind. This is a hill I will die on.

I don't blame him for avoiding her. Chances are, he could be upfront and mature and it wouldn't help. I've worked with emotionally volatile people before and the only thing you can do is stay away from them. Being an "adult" and talking it out is really only feeding into their desire for drama. They created the situation so that there will be meetings and mediations and a whole frenzy of attention surrounding them. In my opinion, he's doing exactly what I would do-- self-preservation. It isn't his job to keep her emotionally stable. Fuck that noise.

I've been married to man A. It was incredibly dysfunctional. Currently married to man B and life is pretty damn great. He loves me and he also loves his work. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. After being married to a man who had no desire to earn money (any money... he thought that was my purpose), man B is a wonderful change. We both appreciate working hard for everything we have, including each other. I don't need or want flowery bullshit. Show me you're willing to work hard for our life together. That's sexy.
