I think it's pretty awesome that Bernie Sanders is scheduled to speak at an Evangelical Christian college because he feels it is important to have an open dialog with people who don't have the same beliefs as him. According to the article I read, he is the only democrat who has accepted the school's invitation to speak. He just seems like a decent, intelligent human being. He is the opposite of Trump.

Some video of Kim Davis just popped up on my Facebook feed and I actually scowled. Her whole circus has made us Christians look like fools. Waving around white crosses like the freaking KKK. I have nothing against white crosses, actually, the scene was just a sickening metaphor of how some people brandish their ridiculousness.

As a Christian, you can do bad things but God forgives you if you are contrite. So you can go and sin (which is to be imperfect) and so what, you'll go to heaven anyhow. Those who don't understand this think that Christians are holding themselves up to be perfect, but Christians know they are not (because they are taught that they were born with sin and were never perfect). Only Christ was perfect.

It's really annoying when Christians think that just because they are Christian that they are somehow perfect and don't ever make mistakes or act like jerks sometimes. Yes I just edited someone else's post to make it read differently. I'd also like to add "judgmental" to the list of hypocritical things the Christians I've encountered are.

There are these people in our neighborhood who always put these Bible verses on signs in their front yard...."Every one of us will have to give an account of himself to God"...stuff like that. They also have all sort of anti-abortion paraphernalia all over the place. To me, that just seems like you are just about asking for people to let their dogs poop on your lawn. Or egg your house. It just sort of rubs me the wrong way when I see it and I'm a Christian myself.
