I hate that our society views marriage like some sort of badge of honor. It should be encouraged to leave a relationship, for whatever reason. Besides abuse, many couples just outgrow each other. Neither of them get any emotional benefit from the marriage, but omg you gotta stay together, or else. I just wish people, especially women, were taught that there's no shame in leaving.

I hate all the stupid memes and cartoons floating around that depict teachers with guns. They're so childish. I get that they evoke an emotional response, but a little critical thinking would do better than arming people who want to teach, not kill.

Earlier this week, I've been having a weird interactions on a coworker where I feel like we're connecting emotionally. BF has also been out of town visiting family. I wonder if its my subconscious telling me that this isn't a path I want to go down with coworker perhaps that subconscious intruder.

i think that for some people, seeing a therapist when you have a large amount of weight to lose can be very helpful. pretty much everyone knows the ins and outs of weight loss (eat less, eat healthy, move more). it's not rocket science as long as you don't have any other underlying health issues that could make it harder. but if you gain weight or eat uncontrollably as a coping mechanism for untreated emotional issues, abuse, or trauma then going on a diet and exercise program is just slapping a bandaid on the problem. you'll eventually backslide. sometimes you need to delve deep and resolve the issues that caused you to gain the weight in the first place before you can really work on losing it for good.

Yeah, I mean, okay, it changed my physical health. I was able to move around more easily and I was no longer in such pain every month from debilitating periods. But it most definitely didn't like, fix my whole life or anything. You still have to deal with all the emotional things yourself regardless of what you weigh.

I accidentally faved this, so now i kind of feel like i need to respond. Up until this point, I've never responded to you, but, I gotta say, I don't think you're a pariah. I think you're emotional and instead of speaking from a place of fact, you speak from a place of emotion and misinformation. Race and drugs go hand in hand, and there have been hundreds of studies done that prove it. This is a multifaceted issue, just like anything else that has to do with human society. Just because all races can abuse drugs, doesn't mean that one community isn't hit harder or that other communities (white, middle/upper class) get more attention when they're affected. Discussing the correlation of race and drugs doesn't make someone a racist. Denying it exists in the face of empirical evidence is what makes someone sound like a racist.

What is Wrong with You

Now that I'm older (late twenties) my habits of compulsive overeating are starting to really wreak havoc on my body. Whenever I eat a junk, especially late in the evening, it sits heavy on my stomach and causes me to have the worst stomach cramps late at night and in the morning. It'll run into the next day and I'll feel bloated and gross. Despite knowing that I'm effing up my body, I *still* overeat. I've lost weight and gained weight over the years and I've always known that I've had a problem using food as an emotional crutch, but I know I have to stop doing this. It's really making me sick.

I've thought for a while now they should make the process to get married more difficult. I think DH paid $50 for our license. I wasn't even with him. There should be a costlier license fee or mandated relationship classes. I'm happy in my marriage but people can get married in a snap. Divorce is expensive & emotionally strenuous.

So, people who post about their bad relationships sounds like children? I'm fine with that, actually. I'd much rather sound like a whiner than someone who doesn't have the emotional capacity to empathize with others.
