If your kids are not helping you around he house, then it's because you didn't make them or never have made them. My kids have been taught and expected to help out for as long as they've been able. They can do things like take dishes to the kitchen and pick up toys from the time they are about 3. If they've always been expected to do it, then it's not usually an issue. Of course teenagers will complain about it, but they also know that if they don't do it, there will be consequences. It's not optional in my house. Never has been.

My friend proudly posted a picture of her newly tiled kitchen done by her DH. The tiles in the picture didn't line up. Just slightly, but enough I noticed it and cringed. That would bug the shit out of me. Other than that it looked very nice. =P

Two pieces of cake at once? Oh, the horror! Don't freak, OP. Just forget it and move on. I have on more than one occasion pretty much polished off a whole cake over the course of a day by grabbing a slice here and there from the kitchen counter. Don't let it derail you.

Just had birthday cake at 11pm in my pjs. My new roommate by chance found out our other roommate had a birthday today, so she quickly ran out and bought a cake then got it ready. We waited until for a while then sadly blew out the candles and went to bed not knowing when bday girl would return. I texted her earlier and she replied hours later that she was on her way home. Luckily, roomie was still awake and we hopped out of our cozy beds. Lit the cake, turned off all lights and put it on the kitchen table so she would see it walking in. As we heard the front door, we hid for a minute. It was fun to hear the genuine reaction of her and bf. We jumped out of hiding and sang bday. It all worked and and was very touched! God, I am happy that our new roommate is so great.

BF 35 keeps inviting people over who stay until midnight-1am (Loud mind you). I have to be up by 6am week days. This weekend I haven't gotten more than 4 hours of sleep. Apparently I'm grouchy. I don't have a right to be upset, tired! He threw a fit, picked up the kitchen table threw it down, threw his coffee cup at the wall, picked up a statue of his and broke it because I told him enough is enough. Of course it's all my fault he broke everything. I told him I'm moving out. He doesn't do shit but keep me up, throw his temper tantrums when you tell him to pick up his mess. 15 minutes later he's whining his back hurts, you can't leave me. But I'm lazy and mean because I refuse to clean up after them! Their lazy asses can't throw their garbage in the garbage can 2 steps from where they sit. The I'm not getting my way so I'll throw stuff, break stuff and, whine about it after is stupid, doesn't make sense to me. I'm moving out.

Is it weird my dream home centers around entertaining space? I love hosting people. I like to cook and make people comfortable. I could care less about giant bedrooms and spa bathrooms. Give me awesome hang out spaces and a fantastic kitchen and I'm thrilled.

Question. You found a great house. It's perfectly decorated, updated kitchen, large deck & yard. But needs new Windows. Do you walk away or just offer less. I'm trying to decide if it's worth replacing ours when we sell or just accept a lower offer/risk losing a sale.

One time at a Christmas party, my cousins and I were in the kitchen cooking when my uncle comes in and tells us to go into the living room because his daughter is going to read her Christmas cards. There was no way we were going to stop because everyone was getting hungry and we wanted to serve the fried chicken, mash potatoes and other things soon. One of my cousins told my uncle that she would have his daughter read the cards to us later (probably a lie to get him out of the way) and my uncle stomps off and tells his daughter that her cousins didn't care enough to stop cooking to listen to her read. It's true, we didn't.

DH told me that he thinks we should move into my IL's old house when they pass on. I don't know if I can do that or not. It's an old manufactured house and the walls are paper thin and it's just a crappy house. Plus, we'd have to totally remodel the kitchen, the bathrooms, and most of the rest of the house as well, which DH would probably try to put off as long as possible. I hope I can convince him we can raze it and build a new house. The thought of living in that dump just depresses the hell out of me.

For the love of all that's holy, I need a freakin' break! DH has been suffering with a sinus infection for two days, and has spent the whole time in bed. I've taken him soup, hot tea, coffee, orange juice, dry toast, and every freaking thing he's asked for. This morning the dog, who's been spending all her time with DH, puked on the bed. DH up in a chair, dog walked, sheets changed, both back in bed, then the sprayer on our kitchen faucet broke and spewed water all over me and the kitchen floor. If I so much as break a nail, I may just have a meltdown.
