My nephew's fiancee broke up with him right before Xmas. My sister is so pissed and upset that she hurt her son. She was also really close to the whole family. I've been playing the supportive sister/aunt role but inside, I'm celebrating. My nephew's a good guy, but they were way too young. And honestly, women get the short end of the stick in marriages. Just look at half the things posted here. I've been married for 20 years and love my husband, but if something happened to him, I wouldn't get remarried. Good for her for realizing that there is more out there than being a wife. She has her whole life ahead of her. Do whatever you want to do. Don't limit yourself to following him to another state, which was in the plans, and limiting your options.

I made homemade cider for the first time and dropped some off. Friend totally loved it and said she would pay for more! It’s a lot do work, but worth it!

My Mom passed away 11 years ago. I sometimes see a shadow leaving a room and I feel a connection to her. I have what seem to be convo's with her in my sleep, and I find them comforting. Our beloved 15-year-old dog passed away in April, and I swear I see her shadow a lot, too. Sometimes I could swear she's lying in 'her' chair and I instantly break out in tears (like I've done typing this). I'm having a particularly difficult time this Christmas. Is it possible that my sweet Maggie is coming to see me?

I don’t care how stupid and childish I’m about to sound but I have to let it out somewhere. I love The Mandalorian. I am so sad it’s over for a year. If you haven’t watched go away I’m about to write about a spoiler. Stop reading now. Have you quit yet? This is your last chance to stop reading due to a spoiler coming up. OK. I am sooo depressed and sad about BY and Mando parting ways. I want to see them together again and I need more of the show. I hate when fiction reminds me how dull and awful life really is. I’m Grogu obsessed. Pathetic I know.

God, I hate gifts. I really hate having to pick out good gifts for people I love because I stress too much about what if my gift isn't perfect. I end up just giving gift cards and it's lame. I also hate getting crap from people who don't know me as well as they think and it's stuff I'll never use. Like bath salts when I never take a bath or gourmet ice cream when I'm lactose intolerant. I dunno. Christmas was just better when I was a kid and was happy when I got a new Barbie doll and lots of candy.

I don't really celebrate Xmas, but try to send out holiday cards. This year, I'm really loving sending out cards to everyone I know. I love thinking about them, handwriting a message, maybe drawing something. Definitely a lost art. I will never stop enjoying the feeling of giving and receiving mail.

They’re both awful and do awful things. I’m not sure why you can love one and hate the other, no matter what side you’re on. It’s so gross.

For our office Zoom party, I'm thinking of an easy fun competition like seeing how fast we can make whipped cream from scratch. Does that sound fun or lame? At the office, we all like to eat and we love talking about food the most.

I hate Christmas too. And I actually do know why, I think. I didn't used to hate it, but now I don't allow myself to indulge in many of the Christmas treats, I am married to a total Grinch who hates getting gifts, my mom is gone and she was the one who loved Christmas in our family, plus all the stores are super crowded and there is this whole underlying message of Buy!Buy!Buy! that just pisses me off. Maybe it'll get better next year, but I doubt it. It just is not the same as it was when I liked it, that's all.
