My sis and her husband cane for dinner last night. I made my 1st prime rib. It turned out good. Her ds and my ds were at the gym working out. For Christmas she gave my ds a 40 dollar gift card and I gave her ds/19, $40.00 in a Christmas card. When they left, the card and envelope for my nephew were on my kitchen table. I thought that was so rude. Her kid just took the money and left the card. Freaking rude and selfish. What the heck is wrong with people???

Well, when my place of employment is a homeless feeding site, and there are three church soup kitchens, a county detox/rehab, a salvation army shelter and a HAC (county homeless shelter within 10 blocks, with a free shuttle and I still have to watch all this shit go down, sometimes literally, while kids and families aren't safe to use the library and I get hassled for money.. Yeah, I'm not empathetic at all. And, yes, I donate money to the women's dv shelter and to kid's crisis. So if you are not down in it every day, stfu.

I am also a former waitress. I quit when a customer sent their food back and the cook threw the food on my face when I brought it back into the kitchen. While I was wiping the food off my face and uniform the best I could the manager came up and yelled at me that I had tables waiting.I tried to tell him what happened, he kept saying we we too busy now you can talk to me later. I kept trying to tell him I need to tell you something now.He told me to shut the fuck up and get out on the floor and take some orders. I told him to take the orders himself, handed him my order pad and walked out. He tried to grab my arm as I walked away. He was about twice my size. I screamed at him to not touch me and kept walking while he yelled "(name) get back here" . At the end of the night another waitress told him what happened. He called me over and over apologizing and begging me to come back, I never returned any of his calls.

I'm sort of frustrated with my parents right now. My mom got a check from their lawyer for disability money that she'd been missing out on while waiting to get approved. They finally got the money and it's SUPPOSED to be going towards her treatment--alternative therapies and expensive trials that insurance won't cover. What is my dad spending it on? Remodeling the kitchen. I just want to smack some sense into him sometimes.

Ugh. My 30-something sister lives with my parents, rent free. Her 3 kids do too. They're all pigs. I came over to help with Thanksgiving dinner, thinking that they'd at least clean up their shit for today. No. Garbage everywhere, toys everywhere. And the kids are just standing around complaining about having to clean up their messes. I am so annoyed. The kitchen is way too covered in who knows what and I can't even get in to cook. As a result, while we usually are done with the bulk cooking by now, we haven't even started. My parents are such pushovers. They always ask why I rarely come around, and I tell them because their house is always filthy from my sisters brood yet here we are. I think next year I'm going to skip it. I'd host it at my house but they don't even know boundaries and would trash my place too I'm sure.

I'm tired of people making sweeping accusations to volunteer, help out and not just on a holiday. Myself, husband, and family have been doing so for years, all year around. We volunteer at rest homes, we help with drives, veterans, orphanages, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, animal shelters, and we build for habitat for humanity. STFU already, not everyone sits on their butts whining about it. Not only that, but we don't talk about it. No one knows how much we do, we don't post about it on social media. So yeah, I can say what I want. The things I see, most of you wouldn't know about. There's so many that need help. And if you want the refugees here great, but you probably won't do much about that either. You still just sit around thinking your opinions are superior and right.

Another person who says help at home but guess what? The whole planet is home. Put your money where your mouth is and go help a vet or homeless child. Not just on holiday or at a soup kitchen. Find them a job, a home, be educated in the services provided in your area, don't put it on social media or youtube and stop bitching about people on welfare. The homeless in this country aren't being mass murdered right now. They have resources. The refugees do not have as many choices or programs to be helped.

I was in the kitchen getting water and heard a scratching sound noise. I look over my shoulder towards the cupboards and see what think was a long black tail. It freaked me out. I had been hearing some wall scratching lately, but didn't think too much of it. Sure enough two hours later, the same mouse (I think it was) ran into my room and back out. I screamed and thankfully roommates peeked out of their room to check on me. I hated that it choose my room instead of my two roommates. It was definitely not a baby, either. Though times like this I am so happy I don't live alone.

I read the post about having a grotty house even though you clean it and everything. I can so relate. My house is just dingy and needs new carpet in the worst way, needs a new bathroom badly, and the kitchen is not very usable the way it is now. I mean, I can fix some things and I have done just about every quick-fix there is out there, but it only goes so far. I can't just go out and buy new carpet because DH will have a hissy fit about how much it costs. So yeah, I hear ya. I just try to do what I can with what I've got, I guess.

My dad dropped some things off at mine at about 4AM this morning (which was fair enough, he has a key and was passing on the way to work) but he left my kitchen/hallway door open, so when I opened my bedroom door this morning there is a very good chance my neighbors over the road could well have seen me naked (you can see right through). I've not even lived here a week haha
