do non-judgemental vegans exist? my best friend has been vegan for about 2 months which is totally cool. she came to visit me last week and, knowing this, i made sure to stock my kitchen with things she could eat and only ate at vegan restaurants or restaurants with vegan options. sometimes i ate vegan with her, other times i didn't. the times when i would eat meat or dairy, she would always have something snarky to say about it under the guise of "caring about my health". other times she would just stare at me while i ate with a disgusted look on her face. she never used to be like this considering she used to eat these things too less than 60 days ago. it makes me sad and not want to eat with her anymore.

It's really crazy how the evangelical/fundie crew think God is all-powerful and loving, however because the LGBTQ community is gaining acceptance that God has decided kids should be shot up in schools? Religious fervor is truly a mental illness.

I also get irritated when I tell someone that I'm mentally exhausted or stressed and they tell me I need to get something to drink to "take the edge off." No, I don't need alcohol for that, all I need is a hot bath, some tea, and to chill on the couch. Even after all these years together, my own husband, who knows I'm not a big drinker, tells me that. Then again, he also told our friends that in order for me to be "fun," you have to get some alcohol in me :(

I love dogs. But I hate how judgemental everybody is about how other people keep their dogs now. Like judging people who cannot afford to feed their dog expensive raw food diets or even the best quality kibble, or this new idea that you can never have a dog if you work at all, down to people judging others for the types of leashes/harnesses they use (I know those extending leads can be dangerous, but you can educate somebody about that without being a total dick). I guess dogs are only for rich retirees. I know you shouldn't get a dog if you can't afford it, but the barrier seems to be getting placed unnecessarily high. I'd rather see a rescue dog in a home being fed not great quality kibble than being put to sleep by a shelter who probably fed the same sort of kibble anyway, because shelters aren't feeding their dogs Orijen or whatever, there's just no way they're affording that either.

You need to reread what I said. I never said Juul was "pushed" on kids, at all. But you're severely mentally stunted if you think they weren't aware of the marketing consequences of their products. Also, why do you assume people are just reacting now? It's like saying nobody knew about climate change before the current protests. Dont be such a simpleton, learn some marketing basics for the love of all things holy.

Yep. I was given custody of ds when he was 4. When he started school, there were three choices: Public (no go, it was a tough city); private school with tuition; or free charter school. I liked the charter schools (there were three in our city) because their curriculum was wide - visual arts/drawing, vocal music, instrumental music, foreign languages/cultures and dance, in addition to academics. This helps kids evolve into well-rounded individuals. Ex had a say education, and said "absolutely not" because of dance. He insisted on private school - AND THEN refused to help with tuition. Had to go to court, where he was ordered to pay half. BTW I'm the one who just posted about college tuition, so you see this has been going on for a very long time.

(Apparently I have more to say about this, so if you're annoyed, feel free to skip) Our society *is* sexist. It's structural. So there are men who aren't actively, consciously sexist who don't understand that they have male privilege because they've never raped or beaten a woman. And they don't understand that their ability to think of themselves as simply "Kevin" and not "a man" is part of that privilege. Men consider their experience to be universal. Anything that doesn't pertain to their experience is "women's issues." Gender division of labor goes beyond housework and care taking. It extends to mental and emotional labor we carry. This structure, in which we put children first while they put career first, in which we assume that a normal relationship is one where the man makes more money than the woman, that it's her job to "keep him happy"- is sexist. And it's the frame we're all raised with and don't question very often. That's what I'm saying.

I did something dumb. Haven't slept with a man since January. Slept with a guy Saturday night. I hate myself. God must be so disappointed in me. I am so tired mentally, physically and spiritually. Living with this angry alcoholic is taking it's toll too. Please pray for me.

And for the record, I’m sick and tired of all the mass shootings, and I think there should be a ban on all the AR’s and like weapons. I’m sick to see/hear/read about these psychos. I’ve even researched it, and there’s one common denominator to all the mass shootings back to Columbine. Every.single.murderer had been, was on, or was supposed to be on anti psychotic meds. So, yeah, change gun laws and fund mental health programs so this shit will stop in my lifetime.

1/2 Been getting my ducks in a row to leave dh. Weird thing is, sometimes I feel sorry for him bc I know he has mental issues. He says I'm his soulmate and love of his life, so I feel guilty. Not anymore. He's locked everything down, where before we've always had free access to each other's things. Tonight I had a feeling to look in his wallet. There's a paper w/ 4 women's numbers on it: 1. A hs friend who I've always felt was more than a friend. He only talks to her when he's away and I've seen calls from her in the middle of the night. 2. A friend of a friend I caught him sexting last yr; I dug & found out they'd met a year and a half before. I contacted her & she wouldn't answer when I asked if they'd slept together. When confronted, he showed me a text to her, cutting off contact. 3. A woman he'd gotten a text from in 2016. The number wasn't programmed, but I looked it up and saw she lived in a state he'd recently visited for work.
