My SIL and BIL are both teachers and my SIL is really, really bossy. She acts like she's older than I am and knows so much about everything because she teaches home ec. No joke--when she was pregnant w/ her first baby, she told me that when the prenatal nurses were telling her what to do during her pregnancy, she told them not to worry because "I teach health classes at a high school". Sheesh. She may do a lot of good with her work, but I wish she would lose the attitude.

I wish all men would only marry other men. That would leave us women free of male bullshit. What a service to womanity that would be. If only there was some way to have them bear all the children too, and nurse them, and learn to use breast pumps. Women could step in to take care of the kids as we always have (after certain men abandon theirs). Then as they age men could push each other around in wheelchairs and change each others diapers, jobs that women usually have to do for their spouses [who haven't taken care of their health] because there isn't anyone else to do it. What a concept.

When people ask where I work and I say at a hospital , they ask if I'm a nurse. I'm not but get annoyed that they just assume I am. There are other jobs at a hospital.

I have a lot of really real-seeming dreams that I get handed unwanted babies and I raise them like mine--I even nurse them in the dreams. I'm CF and the dreams seem so real. Once, it was a dream that I found a little toddler in a grocery store and when I went to find his mom, she ran off and told me to keep him. It kind of made me sad, TBH. I bet there are a few moms out there who really WOULD abandon their kids like that.

I had Mirena inserted in February. The next day I had the worst cramping of my life. I mean doubled over, ready to vomit mind numbing pain. I figured I was being a wuss, because side effects say there can be cramping. About five days later, I felt something poking me, and it was uncomfortable. The nurse practitioner just told me the strings were too long, so I should push them up. She told me they'd cut them at the next appointment. A few hours later, I went to the bathroom and when I looked down my IUD had come out. The doctor told me, the awful cramps were my body rejecting the IUD. Yes, I'm that luck .03%. It costs me nothing the first time, but if I were to try again it would be $1000.

Our roommate is a fucking asshole. Its my house and yet he disrespects it. Dont leave the lights on, dont be super duper loud (especially at 2am), dont make me go in the other room to nurse my kid---go to your room, also dont sleep on the bed we provided you without sheets. So fucking gross. We now have to get rid of that mattress wheb he leaves. I just want to kick him out but of course dh doesnt want to. Nothing bothers dh. Not like he cleans the house or roomie...I do. Dont mind cleaning up after dh but i do mind after roomie.

My dd was hospitalized when she was 3 for an eye infection. She stayed 2 nights. Dh & I stayed with her the whole time. We rotated shifts. My mom said I should leave her alone because the nurses & doctors will do their job. BS! I couldn't leave her. I was a stay at home mom until she was 2 and a half. Luckily my employer was understanding. I couldn't believe my mom suggested that! My dd is almost 25 now. If she wanted me to spend the night with her in the hospital now, I'd still do it. Op with the child with celiac disease, do what's best for you & your family. God bless you. Email me if you can. My email is ampost@scif.com. I can send you $50.00 to help you out. ((Hugs))

My five year old son is in the hospital. He was previously been diagnosed with Celiac disease. He has a medic alert bracelet and the hospital staff was made aware of it. As an extra precaution we posted a sign on his bed, just in case something happened when we weren't there because my husband often works nights and we have other kids at home so neither of us can always be in the hospital. Today when my husband went to see him there was a half eaten rice crispy in his room. He had woken up hungry during the night and had been brought a rice crispy square as a snack. My husband found out he was given crackers the night before as a snack and that for dinner tonight they were going to bring him pasta. The hospital is trying to backtrack and the nurse my husband spoke to is acting like it isn't a big deal and my son should have said something if he wasn't allowed to have it. He's FIVE! I am seriously SO angry that I could scream.

On the other side, I feellike my kid needs a sleep schedule. He is so difficult to get to sleep. He doesnt even get drowsy, he goes from getting tired to overtired....i do not want to nurse him to sleep everytime, and now it takes him longer and longer to nurse to sleep. 5 mins has turned into 30. For a horrible 45 minute nap.

I hate going to the doctor, so I rarely do unless I need to. They make you show up 15 minutes early, but then don't even call you back into an exam room for 30 minutes after your appointment time. Then you wait another 15 minutes for the nurse to take your vitals and another 15 minutes for the doctor to come in for 3 minutes. Then another 15 minutes for the nurse to come back with your prescription(s) and any information they think you might need. It's a load of horse shit. When I was seeing a psychiatrist, I once asked why I'd get charged $50 if I were 10 minutes late, and cancelled after 15 minutes (which I never was, because I'm a stickler for punctuality), when I've never been seen at my appointment time. I don't remember what she said, but after that I was always seen exactly at my appointment time or earlier. That was nice, but that's how it should be.
