The dog next door will wail and howl like 8-10 hours straight. I've contacted the HOA and the city both twice. They don't seem to do much. I haven't gone to ASPCA, etc since it's not being abused, (I guess) and no one's home anyway to confront. We've sent the police though. It's annoying, no one wants to do much or can. You can't even hear the TV or your phone over this dog. It's so obnoxious and hard to live next to.

Pigeon shooter strikes again. Only now his bb pellets are hitting my fucking house. I went outside and told him to knock it off and that he's hitting my house. He waddled inside, in his underwear, and then I heard him yelling at someone about how *they* got kicked out of so many places. What the fuck. World's trashiest neighbor. It's illegal to shoot bb guns here unless you're threatened or it's contained.. Neither of which are the case, as evident by the countless bbs currently strewn about my yard. The dude is probably insane. I want to call the police but I wouldn't be surprised if he retaliated.

A few months ago, there was a cop in a city near me who was found dead and the police were asking people for info on the suspected killers. Now they figured out that it was actually a very carefully arranged suicide. They also figured out that this cop had stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from the city that he used for his own personal expenses. I wonder how much money the city used to try and find the "killers". I know I was freaked out about possible murderers on the loose for a while.

Police are a problem everywhere IMO. I live in the UK and in most places the police are not armed (except in N Ireland, with pretty good reason) they are still abusing their power regularly though. I was harassed for months by the police over an ex boyfriend (it was a minor collision) and they refused to believe he didn't live w/me anymore. They used to be threatening every time they showed up, and I ended up with panic attacks every time the doorbell rang. I have also seen people enter the police force and completely change as people in a really bad way. I don't doubt there's plenty of good ones but some of their training and experiences seem to remove much of their humanity, or maybe the wrong people are attracted the the job. Racial profiling is a big issue here too, although at least the Met Chief here has admitted to that so hopefully he's willing to tackle it.

Not sure why it was such a big deal that a (white) police officer didn't shoot or kill or beat up a (black) driver over having a concealed weapon. The driver told him he was carrying, he was being a responsible gun owner. In AZ they are allowed to carry, the cop couldn't do anything to him anyway besides citing him for his broken light. The stop wasn't anything special. Everyone is so excited about it as if "see, if you just show respect you won't get killed or beat". People don't understand there is a problem with police overreach no matter how respectful you are. If a cop wants to abuse his power, he will. Correction: people are in denial there is abuse of power with the cops.

My friend has been looking for his dog for a week. He found out a neighbor a block away had her. Crazy bat didn't want to give his dog back and told him she didn't have her. He got the police involved. Seriously? What in the hell is wrong with people??? Kidnapping dogs? At least he has his dog back.

I no longer participate in trick or treat since suspicious-looking teenagers in no costumes and with no bags pounded on my door and tried to get me to leave it to get them bags. I slammed the door in their face and called the police. No more. I would have been an easy victim for them had they chosen to knock me down with no one else at home.

My aunt was a total fascist about cursing, even prohibiting my cousins from saying stuff like "dang!" and "heck!" My parents didn't really police that stuff, so long as we knew where not to swear. The once we were playing the card game BS at my cousins' house with my mom, and my mom forgot herself and said "Bullshit!" instead of "BS." The look on my aunt's face was priceless. Her heart's in the right place, but good lord she has a stick up her bum.

If we can't even trust trained police officers not to gun down unarmed citizens in the streets, how could we trust teachers?

I hate having shitty neighbors. DH thinks differently--he thinks it's great if you have shitty neighbors because then you get to be a shitty neighbor too and they won't call the police on you because they don't want you to call the police on them. I don't get that mentality. I try to be a good neighbor and I just want people living near me to be quiet and sane--I don't think that's too much to ask.
