Most days I don't feel like living, but I know I would NEVER kill myself. I just got over having the fl and detoxing from coffee and creamer. I used to drink so much coffee and creamer. I know it made me gain a lot of weight. Still living with ex dh and I can't find a job. I've put in so many applications. I can hear God saying to keep hanging on, but it's so hard. Ex dh doesn't barely buy food anymore and I'm relying on my mom who's retired to help me with food. It'll get better right?

I knew a woman years ago who wanted to dramatically drop her weight. She was quite heavy, over 300 pounds. She found some old diet plan from the 1980's that her mom used to follow and followed it religiously. It consisted of beef bouillon, black coffee, eggs, tuna, green beans and hot dogs. She lost close to 90 pounds in 4 months. She also ended up in the hospital with electrolyte derangements. That's an extreme example but there are always those who follow fad diets to the extreme and compromise their health. No one wants to hear "eat less, exercise more, cut out the snacks and processed foods".

It astounds me how many people in my life hate veggies so much. They only eat them if they are deep-fried, smothered in cheese, or otherwise disguised to not be veggies. These are usually also people who ask me how I lost weight. When I tell them my meals and snacks are mostly veggies, fruits, and lean proteins now, they ask just how many veggies they'd need to eat and pout about it. I honestly think the reason people feel so hungry if they diet without eating veggies is that veggies fill you up and don't stimulate your taste buds quite so much. My DH is the worst one and won't eat anything green unless he's got a gun pointed at his head.

I've lost nine and a half pounds since May 12th. Slow and steady (hopefully!) wins the race. I'm using the Noom app. They talk it up like it's something new, but it really just helps you track what you're eating, lets you know how many calories you "have left" for the day, and tracks/graphs your weight loss. What's great is that it's the easiest way I've found to do all of those things. It's so fast to use. One thing it does is categorize foods as Green (eat all you want) Yellow (eat moderately) and Red (limit portions). It shows me when I go past my "Red" allotment. I think that eating more fruits and vegetables, and fewer (pretty much no) breads/cereals/grains is what is making the difference. My pants are looser and I'm just so happy!

Well, I did it! Did stretches before getting out of bed this morning, made not one but two passes around the yard (finding a cute little box turtle, two rabbits in the garden, and a bird’s nest in the ivy), then spent a few minutes listening to the sounds of Mother Nature and being thankful for waking another day. I’m in a better frame of mind and badly need to lose weight for my health. Fingers cross3x that I can continue.

I’m the OP who was thankful for the uplifting advice about weight loss. Well, I haven’t done any of those things. I wake in the morning, drink two cups of coffee, take a shower, make the bed, fix breakfast then clean up, and spend 45 minutes on Facebook and reading blogs. I feel OK, then all of a sudden I’m so sleepy. I lie on the bed, and if DH doesn’t wake me, I will sleep all day. I will wake up, fix dinner, clean up, spend some time on my IPad again, and am ready for bed by 9:30. I’m telling myself it could be that I’m low on iron again, but my gut is telling me I’m suffering from depression.

I lost a lot of weight a long time ago. My skin was always a bit loose after that, but now that I'm almost 40, it's really starting to get bad. Like, it flops when I walk and it jiggles so much. It makes me so mad because I feel like I worked hard to lose the weight. Oh, and yeah, I could get surgery to fix it but a) it costs a lot and insurance won't cover it and b) It won't necessarily make things better and there's always a risk when you get surgery. I invested in a lot of Spanx. I really hate getting old :(

Honestly, the main reason I held on to my eating disorder for so long was because I actually didn't hate my body when I was restricting and working out a lot. I don't love my body now, but I am healthier I guess. I am learning to tolerate my body and respect it as a vehicle to get through life with, but I don't think I'll ever "love" it. And FYI--when I did get to my original "goal weight" I still hated my body and re-set my goal weight even lower. Be careful with that.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't realize this at all. They think they can eat whatever they want, as long as they go for a walk later, take their cholesterol medicine, and make a halfhearted attempt at following the latest fad diet. They're stunned when they either don't lose weight, or the weight immediately comes back. My patients are usually sad to learn that they need to consistently do 30 minutes of purposeful exercise everyday AND eat a healthy balanced diet in order to have a healthy body.

i appreciate the sentiment, friend, but i'm fat and disgusting. no amount of body acceptance, self love, body positivity bullshit will make me like my body. only getting to my goal weight will.
