My whole thing about breastfeeding or pumping in a bathroom is that if there are stalls in a larger toilet area then you are smelling and hearing bathroom things going on. There's nowhere to comfortable hold your baby while breastfeeding and to pump you sometimes need an outlet. I am all for providing mothers a nice room or space to be comfortable, and I am big on allowing women to nurse in public and the desexualization of women's bodies altogether. No one should ever be made to eat under a blanket/cover or in the restroom. That's not right.

This is my co-worker's daily schedule. Arrive to office at 7 AM. Spend the whole first hour talking....to me, the other therapists who stroll by and her friend who calls her every morning. Then she eats her yogurt and granola bar for breakfast. I go to my morning meeting and when I get there she is still on the phone. FInally by 9 AM she goes down the hall "to see patients" but stops and chats with pretty much every other co worker who crosses her path. She will rush through her patients, then return to the office to do her charting and eat her snack by 11 AM. Then she does a crossword puzzle. She'll chat with me until I leave the office for the sole purpose of trying to get some work done....I'll go hide at the nurse's station. When I finally am back in my office to eat lunch at 1 PM, she is also eating lunch. I don't mind talking to her when I'm not busy, she's fun to chat with, I just never see her do any work! Plus who eats three meals during your part-time workday? She may see another patient or two before she heads out at 3 PM. I honestly don't get what they're paying her so much money for!

My dad came to this country with nothing. He barely spoke english. He got jobs as a landscaper and lived in an apartment with eight other guys sleeping on mattresses on the floor. Then he got a busboy job in a restaurant. He learned english in about two years, pretty fluently. He got a better job as a waiter. He moved on up to head waiter. He married my mom when she was a waitress, also from another country. They had me and my brother. We were taught our whole lives to work hard and not subsist on handouts. We were low middle class for many years but things got better over time. We also saved money for things we wanted, never used credit. I am a nurse today and I can help out my parents a lot, they don't have to work so hard anymore. I understand it's hard to get by sometimes but you have to pull together, families have to help each other out. And you know what? I don't understand why more extended famillies don't live togehter and help each other with bils and raising kids. So many people have ot have their own place, well maybe you can't afford it. In our culture, living together as a large family is normal. And it's much cheaper!

Omfg this child will not sleep. He's gotten to the point where he's so overtired he won't stay asleep. I do not want to have to nurse him to sleep every time. He's only 3 months, so CIO doesn't work. I work some weekends so he needs to be able to sleep without nursing. He still gets swaddled. Routines don't help, he won't take a pacifier, he won't suck on a finger. It is a constant fight to get him to go to sleep and has been since he was a newborn. And no, wearing him is NOT an option because then I can't do anything but sit there. It's impossible to get anything done while wearing him. The only place he sleeps now is his swing. And while he will sleep for 8 hours at night in the swing, it's still a fight to get him to go down. I am at my wits end. I have no more patience to give. And no my husband cannot just take him because he works 14 hours a day, has to work out, eat dinner and go to sleep. He does his best when he can. I'm just so over this fighting him to sleep. Just sleep child.

A friend of mine is in nursing school and has turned into an arrogant twat. She is constantly talking about how smart she is and makes fun of newer "baby nursing" students, as well as anyone in the medical field who isn't an RN. I've been a nurse since 2001. I've tried to tell her to calm her tits, but it didn't work. She is going to be a terror once she is actually working as an RN. Yeah, nurses rule and all, but stfu. It ain't all that.

So the President visited Louisville today. I'm not fond of him but I thought it was cool that the President was in town. Anyhow traffic was really bad. Backed up in several areas where his motorcade was going to pass. Well a woman went into labor and had to deliver in her car. Thankfully a nurse was in the gridlock and helped deliver. The mother & baby are doing well. Really though people are blaming the President saying hes a bad guy and all. Then on the other hand people are blaming the mother saying that she should have known exactly when her baby was going to be born. People are crazy !

Does anyone use a menstrual cup with an IUD? I asked my nurse (nurses usually insert them here rather than doctors) and she said it would be fine, but I've heard other people say bad things about IUDs with tampons or menstrual cups.

In the hospital with the flu and UC. Doctors want to do a colonoscopy to see what's going on with that. I'm drinking the prep tonight. The PA told me this morning that it's unlikely I'll need the whole gallon of laxative. They've been monitoring me and I have had a lot of bowel movements. He told me what to look for as an indication that I've had enough. My Damned daytime nurse either doesn't understand or won't listen to me. She keeps telling me I NEED to drink the entire thing by different times. First she tells me I had to drink it all by 4, and when I said I thought I had till midnight and she goes "no, 4." And then it was midnight, 8pm, 11pm. I'm pretty sure I've had enough of it. I'll just wait till they do the change over and talk to that nurse.
