Dear sane, true Christians of Arkansas and Indiana and those who don't discriminate, hate, or spew bigotry, I hope you know that we hear you and appreciate your standing strong for LGBTQ Rights in your states. #nohate

You hate Obama and think he's a traitor and not patriotic nor American or Christian and you do nothing but "Support the Troops" all day and all that right wing angry bullshit, but yet, you can't be bothered to do jury duty because it's stupid and they are probably guilty anyway otherwise why are they arrested? Sigh. It's civic duty to go to jury duty, where is your patriotism? Your Americanism? And why haven't you joined the service?

I dislike communion at church. I don't think the bread is Christ's body or that the wine is his blood. Or even if it's just symbolic of flesh and blood it makes me sick to think I'm eating or drinking it. It reminds me of old pagan rituals where ignorant people really thought that ingesting body and blood of their hero or god would make them stronger. In fact, I think the idea of communion was derived from pagans when they were switching over to Christianity, as in "our god is as strong as your god and he's already sacrifced, so we don't really have to kill that bull or that lamb."

Simple. *Some* Christians use the Bible to argue and debate with others. They cherry pick parts to strengthen an argument as do *some* atheists uses controversial (and there are a lot) in their debates as well. It seems that everyone uses the book to make some point.

I think a lot of people cherry pick the Bible. Christians do it, atheists do it. Just live your life.

I find it funny when Christians say they could never be Jewish because that religion forbids pork. Newsflash, if you read your bible it also forbids pork!!!

I hate when a Christian says..."you can't pick and choose what you like from the Bible" Well if history serves correct most of what is written in the Bible was picked and chosen by the people that wrote it and then the ones that revised it. Also goes for he preachers that pick and chose what to preach from and never open the pages to certain areas of the Bible.

My mother was a very good Christian who was raised to be very proper. She never talked about sex - forwarded through the sex scenes even once we kids were grown, and she never swore - wouldn't even let the words "butt" or "fart" be said in the house. Once when I was visiting her, she received a phone call from a friend, who clearly asked what she and I were doing. My mother replied, "oh, just dickin' around." It was completely out of the blue, and clearly not what she had wanted to come out of her mouth! I laughed my ass off as she apologized to her friend and said "I'm sorry, I don't use that kind of language." She turned beet red and tried to turn the tables by saying that she thought I was embarrassed (yeah, right! I was enjoying the fuck out of that moment!) And I said, "Yes, I am! For YOU! I'm embarrassed for you!" I think that embarrassed her even more. I kept laughing, she stayed red, and quickly changed the subject. God it was hysterical. I'm laughing about it again as I write this. I'm so glad I got to experience that moment. I don't think anyone would believe me if I told them it happened, though.

There's a church down the street from our house that constantly spells things wrong on their sign. Things like "Jesus is hear with us!" or "Marry Christmas!" It bothers me because it does nothing to dispel the stereotype that all Christians are uneducated morons who don't have brains.
