I nurse my baby to sleep. At first I was stressing over him becoming dependent on the breast, but it's a nice way for us to quietly unwind from the day. I do wonder if it will be an annoying or frustrating habit in the future, but oh well. I like everyone sharing their routines and such. Everyone seems like really sweet parents and tt makes me smile and look forward to parenting and bonding. I especially like the idea of talking at bed time. I'll have to remember that.

Im getting so frustrated. 9 months pregnant and I just want this baby out! I am in so much pain every day. I can barely walk and sleep is a joke. I always heard about how ladies are "uncomfortable" the last few weeks of pregnancy, but I never heard about all of this pain one might have! Everyone with kids that I know can't relate to me, because they said they didn't have it. I have talked to multiple doctors and nurses and they all say its normal...but man, it doesn't feel normal. I am scared of childbirth, but these days I am hoping every day that I go into labor just so my body can heal!

Valentine’s Day would have been my daughters 25th birthday. She died almost 7 years ago, one month after her 18th birthday, killed by a drunk driver. The first few years after her death I hated seeing all the Valentine’s Day stuff in stores and everywhere because it brought back the pain. Now I actually like seeing it because I remembered how much she loved the day, both the holiday and her birthday. Had she lived she would have graduated high school 3 months later. The day before she died she received a letter awarding her a nursing scholarship in college. She would have been one hell of a good nurse. She had always spoken of organ donation so we didn’t even hesitate. Someone got her heart, which was big and good and full of love. Someone else got her liver, pancreas, stomach and intestines; her guts (pardon me sounding crude) which were full of courage and boldness. Another got her corneas, which always saw the good in everyone and the beauty of the world. The rest of her body had too much trauma as the result of the collision or we would have donated more. Sorry to ramble so much. Writing this out has really helped. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone <3

If your child is very overweight, and you are a nurse and know how unhealthy that is, especially when diabetes is in the family, I will question your parenting skills.

My SIL is a SAHM who is constantly reciting that STUPID salary thing for SAHM's "Oh we're worth six figures blah blah". Listen, I know it's not easy being a parent. I GET IT. I have two kids and I work. And I do a lot of the same dailyl things you do but I do them after WORKING ALL DAY. So the wash, dishes, making dinner, shopping for groceries, etc...it all comes AFTER a long day at the office. Not starting a war here, this is specific to my SIL who really truly believes putting a bandaid on niece's knee makes her the same as a nurse practitioner.

My heart goes out to Bobby Brown. He's really going through it right now struggling to possibly take his daughter off support system, his birthday and anniversary of Whitney's death. And here I was upset earlier that the nurse took too long to bring pain relief to my son.

Had to laugh at WebMD. First article--mistakes every new parent makes---one said to not wake up your baby to nurse. Clicked on the next article and it says you should always wake your baby to nurse. Make up your mind WebMD.

I'm so annoyed. We had to have health risk assessments done for work and the stupid nurse assistant who had to take my blood pressure kept screwing it up. First, she was using the large cuff, which is too big for my arm and gives a false reading. Then she kept saying she couldn't hear the pulse--probably because she wasn't pumping the cuff up enough. I was about ready to yank her stethoscope off her neck and take my blood pressure myself. Geez, at least I would have had half a shot at an accurate reading.

TMI alert. I went in for a pap. I hate it because doctors don't listen to me when I tell them they'll need the longest tool because my cervix is hidden. I have tricare, so I go on base. Every time I get a pap, it's a different doctor. They look at me like "I'm the doctor, I know what I'm doing." Then I go through the pain of them using a smaller tool for 10+ minutes trying to jam it in there and look for my cervix. Then they ask for the nurse to hand them the largest tool. Even then they have a hard time finding it. This doctor said that I have the most difficult cervix he's ever seen. He's seen hidden ones, but not like this. Yea, thanks, I know...you're not the only doctor to tell me this. My pap took 30 minutes. I have to go back to get my mirena replaced (he said he couldn't do it)...I'm dreading it.
