Nobody is saying Islamic terrorists aren't assholes. It's just that people seem to confuse Muslims and Islamic terrorists. Is the Westboro Baptist Church representative of Christians? No, it's fucking not. I would ask that you stop being such an ignoramus, but you know what just go an masturbate with your gun, like all the other ignorant idiots out there. Murca!

The Hitler book confession reminds me of a topic we discussed in Leadership Development. Our teacher discussed that Hitler was a great leader. Of course people were shocked, but she pointed out that didn't mean he was a good person! But obviously he had a good leadership skill - how else do you get all those people following you - doing what you say, and getting you to do those horrible things, leading a whole country? He obviously had leadership skills. Didn't mean he was a good person of course. He as a horrible disgusting person. But he still the skills of a leader. It's like when my uber Christian cousin found out I know who Anton LeVay was (founder of Church of Satan) she freaked out. Just because I knew who he was, doesn't mean I agreed or followed! You probably know who Charles Manson is, doesn't mean you are a murderer does it? yeah... people are crazy!

I was at a dinner with DH at his friend's home. Everyone had been drinking except me(I don't drink because of personal reasons not religious reasons) Before everyone began to eat we were asked to say a prayer. DH didn't feel comfortable doing it and neither did I and we said so. One guy went off on us because he assumed what our religious views are just because we are from the bible belt area. He started attacking our religious views and how we are stuck up and think we are better than everyone and if we are such good Christians we should pray for everyone. The kicker is we aren't even religious people nor do we even practice any religion. He just assumed because we are from a certain area it meant we are hardcore Christians before even asking.

And if you use the term vegan when you're not, you just confuse people. I agree that vegans can be assholes to people who are trying on different parts of the lifestyle, and that sucks. I don't have a problem with new vegans still wearing out old leather, or eating a plant based diet during the week, or any of that stuff. But you can't be "part time vegan" any more than you can be "part time Christian". Sorry for the religious reference but the first thing that popped into my mind. I don't understand what's so hard about this concept to get. If you call yourself "vegan except..." then you don't understand the concept of being vegan. Nobody is saying vegans should attack people who are just cutting out dairy, or eggs, or meat, or eating a plant based diet whilst still buying animal tested products, that sucks. Just don't fucking call yourself a vegan unless you're a vegan. A four year old could understand the concept.

Just read a story-don't know if it's true- about a woman who was gay and married with children to another woman. The pastor conducting the funeral, stops 15 minutes in and tells the family he cannot continue the service unless all evidence of her being gay is removed. Pics, etc. My first thought is there is more to the story. Why would the pastor agree to do the funeral in the first place? He had to have know she was married to another woman, and secondly, why would they go to a pastor /Christan church in the first place? Everybody know that Christianity as a whole, is anti-gay. Why expect them to be something they are not? I believe it is wrong and shortsighted to be anti gay, who cares how someone else conducts their live life? But it is well known that Christianity is anti gay so why think they would be different ?

I just watched Europa Report. It's great that space films are including female astronauts, but you just have to laugh about how sexy they have to be. Not that scientists can't be sexy, but when you have total stunners who also happen to be marine biology PHDs and amazing pilots it gets a little tiresome. Especially when paired with guys who are perfectly average to averagely cute (cute being Christian Camargo, loved him since Dexter).

I like to read the comments on the internet, (although I shouldn't since people are can be so ignorant and hateful and it burns me up) and I'm always reading the same thing about how liberals/Dems and/or religious people are sheep, they follow the masses, can't think for themselves, etc. Wouldn't the same thing apply for a Christian Republican people? I mean, they all pretty much think the same way and follow the masses on their side too right? Either I'm the one that's ignorant or their comments don't make sense.

I just read Fifty Shades of Grey and meh... Not too impressed and not the lusty orgasm-inducing porno that it was cracked out to be. Honestly, the sex scenes got repetitive after the fifth time, it was just always described the same way and completelyyyyy unbelievable. I was more interested in whether Christian could actually love Ana that way she loved him and not just as a sub.... Ugh guess I'll have to read the trilogy to find out unless someone wants to tell me?

I need some advice. I have a close friend who has a lot of views I find pretty offensive. She acts very open minded but she was raised by a crazy Christian mother who was also an alcoholic. In the past I have heard her say some pretty offensive stuff about women. For example, that the girls that were attacked with acid in Zanzibar "deserved it" because they were violating local custom. She also has a friend who a close family member has accused of sexually assaulting. She's said this friend should "just get over it". She also constantly rags on me for being childfree. This probably makes her seem like a total bitch, but she's actually incredibly sensitive and intelligent in loads of other ways. I am not good with confrontation and I don't know whether I could educate her even if I tried to, because of her upbringing. We've been friends for years and in a lot of ways she's really awesome but I have huge problems being friends with someone who is so happy victim blaming women. I wonder if something happened to me if she would secretly think I deserve it. What would you do? Put up with it, confront her or cut her out of your life?

My kids' PUBLIC elementary school is starting a religious after school club in January in conjunction with one of the local Baptist churches (deep South here). According to the church website, the club offers, free of charge, "recreation, fun Bible lessons and worship, and a scrumptious snack". This really bugs me. Separation of church and state?? It's not like there aren't enough Christian private schools around here. I think I will contact the principal over this.
