What's a good age to start reading the Goosebumps books? My DS just turned 9, not sure if they are meant for older kids? My DS is an average reader. They aren't too scary either?

My friend used to have a lot of interests. She sculpted well, was involved in civic affairs, was a teacher, read interesting books. For the last 10 years, she has steadily gotten rid of all those things and only wants to go to church, talk about church, criticize other people for their views on church, and hang out with people she considers "spiritual". She's really boring to be around. I think subconsciously she is taking that path because her husband is an atheist and she is passive aggressively letting him know he isn't important to her.

Went out on a date with husband tonight, was in the middle of getting ready and husband's friend arrives, depressed because he got dumped (again). So, I felt bad but what the hell...this is the only night my husband had off and we wanted to go out to the dinner and movie! Husband felt bad and in the end, sad sack invites himself along. I swallow my annoyance because I don't know and then we go out. We go out to dinner, movie and th bookstore because that was in our plans. Whole night, friend complains that the restaurant sucked, the movie wasn't what HE would have seen. Finally, after being accused of making him the "third wheel" I just said out loud in the bookstore, "You are the 3rd wheel because you invited yourself and MADE yourself that." I am now pissed at husband for not telling his friend to go home, pissed at myself for being a bitch and pissed at the friend. Nigh ruined.

I really don't like books for my Kindle. I have an older one - maybe 4 years old? Not sure if that matters. But I hate that there are no page numbers, that I can't "flip through" the book easily or navigate easily. I buy them because they're cheaper, but then I find they're such a turn off I don't use them. I just want to be able to flip through my damn book! Don't they realize that not every book is for "reading" but "using"? It does not lend itself to that.

If you steal a movie, a book, or any other intellectual property, you are not only breaking the law but you are taking money out of someone's pocket. In the case of a book, most writers do not make a lot of money. Some are barely getting by (I'm not talking about John Grisham or other bestselling authors but midlist authors, many whose books you probably read). Writers pay double social security tax (self-employed, no employer to pay the other half). They provide their own health insurance unless covered under a family member's company plan. They have no retirement plan other than what they provide. You are stealing food out of their mouths when you pirate their work. It's not to brag about.

First Valentine's Day together on the books. Still no "I love you" but he signed his card "with love." I'm deeply in love with him, but I will not say it first. So if he waits six months or never says it, neither will I.

My dh just loves to sit and watch YouTube for hours. I don't understand it. I'd rather be reading books.

Dh put up new decorative bookshelves in the living room as my V-day gift. They look great. Practical and sweet. I am going to fuck him so good in return.

I'm in a stagnant place in life right now. I work a lot and when I have extra time I try to workout and spend time with bf. I've also been reading books, but I feel like I'm becoming boring. Not bored, but maybe boring to be around. I have a few ideas of things I'd like to get involved with, but that takes time and energy. Both of which I have very little extra of.

I don't like 50 Shades because it's misogynist BS, just like Twi-shite. I don't dislike it because it's "popular". I have no issue with other popular series like Harry Potter, Hunger Games etc regardless of whether I'm into them or not. Frankly though, it's generally true that most very popular books are very badly written. Dan Brown being a great example.
