Ugh, I am craving a hot dog covered in jalapenos, relish and mustard with some potato salad on the side but I'm pregnant and I heard you can't eat hot dogs at all. :(

so, i am miffed bc a friend left her puppy with us for 10 days (she said it was a week), didn't tell us exactly when she was returning (she was on email tho). So, we have a dog that wasn't thrilled with this tiny puppy jumping on her all the time, it was labor intensive, the dog needed to be played with etc., and was a slow eater, etc., (keeping the dogs separate for meals, or ours would eat hers up!), and it ruined 2 of my favorite heels chewing on them, + it peed and pooped all over the house! Used the pee pads to start and then stopped....and I don't want money or anything at all, but I got a Thank you! by email (delivered dog to her house before she returned) and that was it! Even a token chocolate bar or something - nothing, no in-person thank-you. I am not a person that frequently goes the extra mile to help (we are pretty busy in our family) so I don't take the ungratefulness in stride - I am pretty damn offended. She's probably pissed I told her the dog ate my shoes.WTF, woman!

We've had dogs for 11 years now and DH still does NOT understand that as soon as they wake up, they have to go outside to potty. If I don't tell him to do it, he won't. You would think this would be common sense, but apparently that is not the case.

Pit bulls aren't "killer dogs" unless people train them that way and are mean to them and encourage them to bite, play rough, etc. The teacher of my dog's obedience class owned show Pit Bulls and competed with them in obedience and agility tournaments--sweetest dogs you'd ever want to meet. I personally think insurance companies should let you insure your dog--no matter what breed--if it has a Canine Good Citizen certificate. That proves that the owners care enough about their dog to train and socialize it well and chances are it is a very well-adjusted dog.

Our current insurance also allows "dangerous" dogs, but I was trying to get a lower rate. State Farm is more expensive than who we're with now, unfortunately. I wish more companies out there wouldn't discriminate so much.

State Farm insures people who have "aggressive" breed dogs. A friend of mine has a Pit and she insures her dog through State Farm.

I wonder how many people lie to their insurance agents about whether or not they have a dog and whether or not that dog is a banned breed. We couldn't get the cheaper insurance I found because our dog is considered "dangerous" by the insurance company. The agent was actually willing to lie to the underwriters and just write in that she was a mutt, but we didn't feel comfortable lying. I think it's so dumb that they have these arbitrary lists of dangerous dogs anyway--Rottweilers and Chows were on the banned list, but mastiffs and German Shepherds were not. It doesn't make any sense to me. Sure, a big dog will cause more injury than a small one if it bites, but I don't believe that a vicious German Shepherd is somehow less dangerous than a calm Rottweiler.

Christ on a bike, people--keep your goddamn dogs on a goddamn leash or in your goddamn yard! Not one, not two, but three dogs came bolting across the street at various points of my walk to attack my dog. Luckily, I had DH with me to help corral the loose dogs while I got my dog out of the way, but this stuff pisses me off so much. And the people whose dogs were loose act like it's no big deal. Well, it WILL be a big deal if your dog bites my dog, asshole.

I'm going to snap on this ass. We are going through a remodel that I was told of 2 days before the work started.(3 day job I wish) I haven't had a washer or dryer for over a month. Hauling 4 peoples clothes to and from my moms. We live on a farm his 3 dogs, 3 cats and 20 chickens, a rabbit are all mine to take care of now (he is so tired). Nothing in the kitchen works currently so I can't cook, the floors are filthy with all the people stumping through. Our water lines are randomly on/off and I'm supposed to know when they just shut it off for hours. He hasn't helped with anything. I guess yelling at me daily is how you solve problems! My solution will be free to good home ads for his animals soon! I hate people who get animals but don't want to care for them. I don't have time for all this extra shit but I should cuz he's so tired from laying on his ass!

Next door is a man whose brother lives with him. Brother has a huge, loud dog who is sometimes friendly, sometimes not. When we first got our dog I was walking him on the leash out back when their dog came woofing up to their 4' fence, baring his teeth and growling. (We don't have a fence yet.) My dog went on the defense and it was hard holding him back. We tried introducing them properly but it was the same. We always check first before taking ours out, but lately the brother seems to be purposely letting his dog out when he sees us. We see him looking out the door first. Even ds said yesterday, "There's no way he didn't see us" as the guy just stood on the back step, smoking and ignoring the dogs fighting. My dog is 75lbs, it hurts both of us holding him back. The man (not brother) said it was "funny" to watch us run when we see their dog come out. WTF!
