When I was married we remodeled our house. The rooms and design weren't perfect because we had to add on to the existing structure, but it turned out quite nice anyhow. Now that I'm divorced I live alone in my own cozy condo, but I love how I've decorated it. I still occasionally dream of designing the perfect little house. I love having the dark walnut wood floors and would have them in my little dream house, but the kitchen would have used brick floors. The brick would continue out the white French doors onto the patio. The patio would have a white trellis covered with morning glory. There would be planters of perfectly trimmed boxwood hedge surrounding and lots of white fairy lights strung.

My poor dh. He has spent the last 3 days, 6am-11pm, trying to put down this floating laminate flooring in our house. He was almost finished, I get up this morning to go to work, and there was a pipe leak.... From what I know, he had to take up the entire kitchen. He called me crying. I am heartbroken over how hurt and upset he is. He has worked so hard, it just doesn't seem right or fair for this to happen to him. Sometimes I really don't understand why horrible things happen to good people.

I'm in my room and realized I left my ice water in the kitchen. I don't want to walk all the way back to get it. #firstworldproblems

While out to dinner with friends I mentioned that we bought pendant lights for our kitchen three months ago and that I'm still waiting for DH to put them up. I jokingly said that I'd give him another couple weeks before I call an electrician. He (NOT jokingly) said that if I hired an electrician we'd have separate bank accounts the next day. Our friends noticed I was about to explode, and changed the subject. When we dropped them off at their house I went ballistic! He hasn't apologized (30 years together and we've never mentioned separate finances), and I can't even stand to look at him right now.

I was doing so well with my anxiety, but it's back on full force. I know I can't control the outcome of things, and that I should just not worry about it, but sense when does anxiety listen to logic? Hello, panic attacks, my old friends. I have not had issues since my dh found me on the kitchen floor a year ago, incapacitated with hysterical crying. I'm managing to hold it off, but I can tell I won't be able to for much longer. This is so bad.

I'm in Phoenix too. I mostly grill in the summer because I don't want to heat up my kitchen and the rest of my house. Misters are great for when I'm in my backyard. I hike year round too, just either go to Flagstaff or anywhere really or start early in the morning, 6am start at the latest. I prefer to be done as the sun is coming up. A headlamp is a desert hiker's best friend.

I think there are more wine glasses in my bedroom then there is in my kitchen. How did I manage that...?

I hate formal dining rooms in homes. They seem like such a huge waste of space when 99% of people eat /gather in the kitchen.

Oh man! Don't want to raise your blood pressure, but we've had a vegan kitchen for about two years now. When we make up the shopping list, we say CHEESE, BURGERS, and MAYONNAISE freely...without even putting vegan in front of it!! I'm not a fan of "fake" meats like flavored tempeh/fermented soy cut and textured into strips intended to mimic a certain breakfast food that shall NOT be named, but if you've never had some of the vegan substitutes for dairy, you might be fooled. They're pretty close to the real thing, I think.

After fighting a horrible headache for two days (mostly in bed) I woke this morning with no headache. Got busy around the house doing stuff I've neglected, and took a break on the deck while my kitchen floor was drying. Came across a YouTube video from a dying dog's viewpoint, and ended up sobbing. Freakin' headache is back with a vengeance! Should have known better!
