I was out in my tiny yard today and realized I could use a couple of stepping stones. That brought back to memory of how I was going to make one with my sons hand prints when he was little but never did and now he's a grown adult. Then another time since it was too late for him I decided I'd make a stepping stone using my dogs paw prints and her first dog tag, but never did that either and now she's gone. Damnit, why am I such a stupid procrastinator. :(

I don't know....I know it's not super hot yet (mid 70s here) but when I am in parking lots and see people leave their dogs in a car with the window down a teeny crack, it kind of makes me feel stabby. I mean, sure, it's not terribly hot yet, but if it were any warmer, that would not be enough ventilation to keep the dogs cool. Especially since the dogs I saw today were both climbing on top of each other to get their snouts by the window crack to get some air.

I'm friendly with woman "a" who lives on my street. She's friends with woman "b" (who also lives on our street). We'd all arranged to to to an event together. Woman "b" texted literally 3 minutes before our meeting time to cancel. Another time, woman "b" invited me and my kids over so our dogs could play together. She texted 15 minutes before our meeting time to cancel. My kids were so disappointed. People can be so rude. This makes me not want to try.

SD got a dog "for the kids." It got out last summer and got hit by a car. "The kids" were so upset at the loss that they got a new one two weeks later. They came to stay at Christmas, and to our dismay showed up with their dog because "the kids would miss him too much." She knew very well that our dog does not like other dogs, but she said, "Oh, they'll be fine!" They were NOT fine. AT ALL. It was stressful for both animals. By night, theirs was in the heated garage, and by day, leashed to the tree on the side of the house, thank God it was unseasonably warm. They all ignored him, dh and I were the ones feeding, walking and playing with him, crating our dog downstairs so theirs could come in. (It wasn't housebroken, btw) Two months ago via Facetime we saw they'd gotten a 2nd dog, and both were in their crates in the middle of the day. Now just learned they gave both away. So pissed.

If you bring your cat out in public, I will make a fuss out of it!! My job allows dogs in our store and every time someone brings one in, I (and 99% of the rest of the people that work there) will fawn and ooh and ahh and love the shit out of the dog. I hardly ever notice when people bring their kids in, unless the kid is extremely (like unusually) polite/well behaved or is running around screaming/crying while the mom ignores them.

I like kids, but I don't like all kids. And I like dogs, but I don't like all dogs. Let's face it, even if you like kids and/or dogs, there will always be asshole kids and asshole dogs out there you don't like. I don't see what's wrong with being a bit discriminatory when it comes to liking dogs/kids/etc.

I never wanted a dog. My husband did. I was hoping he'd just forget but he got one anyway. I wasn't happy and didn't know what to do and didn't want to be around it, it was such a little puppy. But it was here to stay. This was a long time ago. I got accustomed to it and we couldn't have kids so I guess I became a dog person. He traveled for work and we had to move far away and I often was alone with the dog. I didn't know dogs had such personalities. I really would have felt so alone without the dog. I became so attached. I can't believe how much I could love anything let alone a dog because I guess I'm rather cold. She died 2 weeks ago of old age stuff. I never felt so much pain in my life to let her go that day. I never would have thought this could happen to me, esp all those years ago when he brought her home. It's so painful. I miss her and love her so much.

Kids, dogs, whatever... Your life, your choice. I honestly don't think anyone really cares what other people do/like as long as it doesn't bother anyone else. I am childless because it just didn't happen and I didn't care enough to make it happen. But I love kids and my nieces and nephews are some of the most important people in my life. I have cats now because I adopted them and they really don't like dogs. But I love doggies and their sweet doggie smiles. I don't think there are right/wrong answers to these questions.
