I just mentally got rid of someone who thinks that Christian Americans are being persecuted for their beliefs. They have no idea what persecution is, not that I do myself, but to claim you have hardships because you can't hold a public prayer in class that excludes or forcibly includes students of different faiths makes me think you are a raging IDIOT.

Not sure how to respond to coworkers who say mean things about our patients, hateful things that are just not necessary. Sometimes I ignore it, but part of me feels I should say something or defend the patients, especially when they obviously have something wrong with them mentally. I am a Christian and I want to say that God loves those people as much as you and me, but I don't want my coworkers to think I'm a freak for saying things like that.

I think what it boils down to is that we all sort of want someone who's like us. I mean there are websites that are specific for different criteria. Christian mingle, farmers only, the one where the guy wants someone over 50 so they can walk through nuances together (WTF does that mean anyway? Watch where you're walking- there are nuances everywhere!) We all just want somebody we have stuff in common with, somebody who's experience is similar to ours. I can see the logic in it.

Jesus is portrayed differently depending on what country you are in. If you were in Asia, pictures of Jesus show an Asian decent. If you look at art from Christians in Africa he is portrayed with dark skin. People portray him in their own ethnicity to identify with him.

Op of post about not liking animals. I would never go out of my way to harm an animal. If I saw a dog on the side of the road injured, I'd totally let my hubby know. Animal cruelty isn't something I condone. I don't hate animals, I just really really REALLY don't like them. I don't see why others feel the need to take a jab at me for being a Christian though. So sorry, im not perfect. Now, please stop being butthurt that I want nothing to do with your 11 cats.

Goodness I can't stand my cousin. She pitched a fit at my wedding because DH and I had a nonreligious ceremony after we converted away from Christianity. We said our Buddhist vows and that was it. Now she sent me a ceramic cross and some kind of laminated prayer as a "thinking of you" gift. The gesture is nice, but can you knock it off with the religious stuff? I donated the cross to Goodwill. Now she wants to know why I "don't love Jesus". It's none of your business.

Your son wants to date me, even though I am not Christian and he is. You tell him that you forbid him to date me because I am not Christian. So, tell me again how "Christian" it is to kick your son out of the house with 5 minutes notice (even though he just paid you $700 for rent), and no place to go, all because you invaded his privacy and read our messages that he planned on moving out in a month so we can date. How "Christian" is it to write your own child out of your life over something so minor? You get your way, I won't date him. I feel him having his family is more important. His ex stole from him, cuts herself and threatened to kill herself over him, was emotionally abusive towards him....but you like her because she's "Christian". I think you have the wrong idea of what it really means to be a Christian.

I teach my kids that God doesn't exist, that the Earth is (almost) 5 billion years old and not 7,000 years old like Christians believe, that the Earth formed from gases and dust that collided and that we went through evolution to become the humans we are now. Their dad who I'm divorced from believes in going to church and Christianity, much to my dismay. I put no pressure on them to choose what they believe in and tell them to believe in whatever they want but their dad is angry that I tell them God doesn't exist and I guess their Sunday school teacher was clutching her pearls when my ds6 told her God doesn't exist lol (when xdh has the kids he takes them to church). Funny thing is I was raised very religious and I even changed my religion to Christianity from Catholic but as I got older I stopped believing in God. I tell my kids to apply whatever belief they want to their daily lives. My oldest ds6 has a lot of questions but my youngest ds5 does not.

I believe in God and I used to believe He was in control of every aspect of my life. I'm not so sure I believe that now. Some things work out for good, and some things turn to shit, no matter how fervently I pray and how much I believe with every morsel of faith that He'll help. Certain things that fall into place do appear to be God working small miracles, and other times I think it was probably just coincidence. There is no way that I could ever be an Atheist because it doesn't make sense to me that their wasn't Intelligent Design that formed the universe, the human body, nature, etc. My mind cannot comprehend how that could happen without God, but my beliefs have changed through the years. I once was a close-minded Christian, and now I'm a believer in God with a open heart and an open mind to other possibilities. Why can't a person believe in God and science at the same time? It it possible. The bottom line is no one that is still living knows the truth.
