I guess I used pregnancy as a "miracle" since becoming pregnant after so long of trying was just first example that came to me since it's so common of a 'miracle'. What about "it's a miracle you walked away from that housefire or plane crash without a scratch!"? Someone mentioned 'luck', because of course you would feel happy you lived, but walked away without a scratch? It wouldn't be a miracle, just luck? Maybe because miracles are associated with Christianity? Forgive me, I want to learn. I hope I don't sound rude. I'm sincerely curious.

I sometimes find it difficult to understand how people reconcile aspects of their faith with their opinions in other areas. An example, I have a Catholic friend who believes in evolution, is pretty open minded to abortion has no issue with gay people and even thinks priests should be allowed to have normal lives and marry, and that banning them from doing so is a part of why some end up molesting children. But if anyone says anything negative about any of the popes covering up abuse scandals she hits the roof...the pope is above criticism for her even though it's been shown that abuse was covered up. She's awesome and one of the most open minded Christians I've ever met but I guess I just find her cognitive dissonance in areas a bit strange.

I was raised by a Muslim mother and a Christian father. We celebrated Christmas and lent and Easter. We also fasted for Ramadan and prayed five times a day. They let us chose our on paths and I chose Christianity. That being said...it's Ramadan. I'm fasting and wearing an abaya and hijab. Besides weddings or funerals it's the only time of year I really wear it.

I don't blame someone for mistrusting Christians because they have been treated badly by them anymore than I blame a rape victim for mistrusting men. I've had gay friends beaten to a bloody pulp over religion and "morality", one ended up seriously ill in hospital. Not really surprising that he's a bit wary.

There are bad Christians just like their are bad atheists or bad Muslims. A whole group should not be 'distrusted' because of the bad apples. That's like saying there are bad white people so I'm going to distrust all white people (I'm white by the way). Get to know someone for who they are and where their heart is, then determine whether you want to trust them or not.

So Chinese slave labor is OK, and buying products from the country that has the distinction of having the highest number abortions on the planet is OK, but certain types of birth control which don't even cause abortion are not? There's Christians, and then there's Hypochristians. Guess HL fall into the latter!

Just saw that schools are adding islam classes. Nope, sorry, my child will not be attending. If you can't teach Christianity, you can't teach Islam. Treat religions, beliefs, standards, etc equally and I may reconsider.

My FB friend is always asking for prayers. Which is fine and all, most of her friends are Christians and really nice people, however, it's always "please pray for me/her/him/them/..I won't go into detail but God knows". Same thing all the time. I get that sending good thoughts to strangers is a nice thing to do and it's really not anyone's business what they are going through especially when you are asking for someone else, but dang it, I confess, I want to know. I'm nosy.

People forget there are some crazy wild parts from the Christian Bible. They look down on other religions for killing, abuse towards women and many other things but if they read the entire bible they would see those same things in their religion as well. So many Christian churches only read the "good" parts or the parts where it tells you how you are a bad person and you will go to hell for your choices. The other darker parts of the bible are never brought to light by the preacher and the congregation doesn't read the not so nice aspects of their religion's history. Don't look down or call out other religions if you don't fully understand and know the history of your own!
