Sometimes I'm sad about my relationship. My boyfriend loves me and will do anything for me, I just feel guilty. My grown kids make me feel bad for finally leaving and divorcing their alcoholic dad after 28 years of marriage. I tried so hard with him. Counseling, al-anon. I couldn't do it anymore. I live with my boyfriend and we're 30 minutes away from my family and that makes me sad too. I hope I'll get over this one day and learn to be whole and 100% happy.

I'm not worried at all about the meat supply. We live in an area that is full of local suppliers, including Amish farmers. Consider the source (Tyson), when it comes to the initial reporting about shortages. I'm sure they are hurting. Maybe they shouldn't factory farm and treat their animals and workers like shit. Honestly, screw Tyson. They deserve to go under. I feel bad for their workers, in more way than one. The Tyson plant not far from me had over 100 employees, many of them uninsured immigrants, test positive for covid. The CEO deserves prison time for not protecting those workers.

Umm, I think having a gun pulled on you is just as bad, if not worse, than getting beat. You have a totally valid excuse for leaving, and have always had one, but you choose to put up with this lazy glutton. What do you family and friends think of him? Do they know how he is?

Just a little tip for anyone worried about meat supplies: Find a local meat market who buys direct from small farms. They are going to be needing an outlet to sell because a lot of them are taking animals from the bigger farms that Tyson and JBS can't take. We found a place near us that sells chicken for 2-3$ a lb, which isn't bad for free range birds. I have been making an effort to buy local now and I think that's going to be more and more important the longer this goes on.

It is worse for some people than others. There are lots of things you can try for relieve if things get too bad, once again, some of which work for some people. Personally, things aren't so bad for me (yet). I got my first hot flashes a year ago (when my body was under serious stress, trying to recover from an injury), and the first 3 weeks was a hot flash every hour. But by 8 weeks, they went away. They came back briefly (and gently) when a family member died several months back. It seems to be VERY stress related for me, so I increased my yoga time, and that seems to keep them away for now. Best of luck!

The Little League World Series was cancelled today. My son has been playing since he was 5. His team won the state championship last year and would have advanced to the World Series but couldn't you have to be a certain age. So this was their year to go. They won pretty easily last year, so it was all but assured they would make it this year. And there is no "next year." They are only eligible for one year. Last year they were too young, next year they will be too old. I can't bring myself to tell him yet. He is going to be absolutely devastated. I'm in my room sobbing because I feel so badly for him. He and his team have worked so hard. They've been together since kindergarten. And now everything the worked for was for nothing.

Our manufacturing team won the Employee of the Month award this month for being the only team having to actually report to work during quarantine. Do we get anything for it? Nope, just a pat on the back. Essential workers are getting screwed so badly out of everything. Most of us aren't getting hazard pay. Most of us work for douchebag rich CEOs who just want to maintain profits without giving two shits about their employees. I hope we all get sick in June and they have to shut down for like 3 weeks just to give a big ol' middle finger to our asshat CEO.

What does he think your problem is? Shortness of breath especially if it's extreme can be a symptom of a heart attack, but it could also be anemia. That's why it's probably best to actually go in instead of relying on a friend's advice unless that friend is a specialist who happens to know all your medical history. Go in if you aren't well--if it is a heart attack it can be really bad if you don't go in right away.

Last night DH and I were talking to our friends (via Zoom), and telling them about a new co-op game we have been playing. DH talked about how he always thought he was a good communicator, but the game has made him realize how bad he is. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. Really, after 20+ years of me telling him that he is the worst communicator I have ever met, he thought he was pretty good? I pointed out the number of times I have pointed out he failed at even normal amounts of communication (like saying goodbye when he is leaving the house for the day), and he said he thought I was asking for extreme amounts of communication. Our friends quickly told him he is way below normal. I wonder if this will be a turning point for him? He says he wants to play the game again tonight, to practice communicator better!

I don't think people are generally bad or good. But I do think we tend to look out for ourselves first. But if that is covered, then I frequently see people reaching out to help others.
