I remember reading my parent's Mexican erotic books. They kept them in the bathroom and I would read them as I used the restroom. I learned how to read Espanol at an early age this way. I learned about sex and how to say dirty words in Spanish too lol. I think my mom knew, but she never removed the books. I'm okay. I think. I'll ask my therapist.

I have such fond memories of those Judy Blume books. First it was "Are you there God, it's Me, Margaret". Then "Forever". Then "Wifey". naughty naughty! A lot of us were forbidden to read these as kids, now looking back what's the big deal?

Lol, I remember reading "Blubber" in elementary school and my mom's overly nosy friend was shocked and whispered loudly to my mom that I wasn't mature enough to read it. Mom never monitored my reading but had to take the book away and then handed it back when the friend left. From then on, it was my mission to grab books that I thought would shock the friend when she was around. I know this sounds petty but I was a kid and didn't like the friend. It got to the point where my mom had enough and told her friend to mind her damn business.

To the mom talking about not being able to buy things for their kids, but buys books. Do you go to Half Price Books? They have a great selection. Also if you live near a Scholastic Books warehouse you can contact them to check into volunteering there. For every hour you volunteer they give you a $10 gift certificate to use at the warehouse. A lot of times I have gotten books for less than a $1. They also have a room of books where you can fill a big box for $25.00.

My DS, 9, just got the book "Treblinka" at the book fair. I think he's too young to be reading a first-hand account about the horrors of Nazi concentration camps. He really wants to read it and I really wish he wouldn't :( Its such a terrible, awful theme. He recently read Anne Frank in class....I read these books too, but I am sure I was older - 7th grade, let's say....I have a hard time to stop him from reading this a) b/c its his freedom of choice and b) b/c he's a poor reader who "hates" reading as it is, so it pains me to try to stop him, which wouldn't be right anyhow.

Dh an I both have different ways of dealing with big projects and get grumpy when it isn't done our way. We are unpacking our apartment right now and he is driving me nuts. I try to be organized... Big things like dressers and book shelves where they need to be so as I unpack other things I can put them where they belong the first time I put them down. He has some crazy method of making a bigger mess and sort of getting tunnel vision on one thing at a time. He wanted to collect and put all of his army stuff in our outside storage so anything he came across just got piled somewhere else. I've had to clear off the table a dozen times in the last week just so we can eat. I've lost count of how many times I've had to clear things off of the kitchen counter that don't belong there... And I busy myself somewhere else to stay out of his way and because he makes messes in other rooms he won't clean up. I got the bedroom mostly unpacked and set up for bed and he dumps a box of coats on the bed and ignored them for 3 hours. Anyway, I thought I had unpacked all of the boxes that were full of my stuff and he finds one, but it's under a bunch of his boxes. So i tell him to let me know when it's free and I'll go through and deal with my stuff. I come out of the shower and he's going through the box, asking me if I "want this" every 2 seconds while I'm dealing with our toddler and getting offended when I sound irritated. I told him several times that I packed that box (the army sent people who packed like 99% of our belongings so sometimes there was stuff we didn't want in it) so I want everything in it, I will deal with it when ds goes to bed. And he just takes stuff out and stacks it on the floor, asking me if I want to keep things now and then and not paying attention when dh starts messing with it. He's flipping the pages of my books like he expects something to be stashed inside... Idk why, but it really irritated me. I know he's not suspicious of me... There's nothing to be suspicious of. But idk why he's pawing through a box of stuff that is obviously all mine when there's a whole room of his crap that still needs to be dealt with.

If we deported the illegals, that means the American employer will actually have to pay legal citizens the minimum wage (at least) plus all the taxes that come along with that (workers comp etc). Illegals aren't the main problem, American employers that hire workers off the books (illegal or American born) are also the problem. Once the undocumented can work legit, they too will have to fund a war and pay for welfare for American citizens that are too lazy to work.

I have saved both the crib sets from my kids. The sheets, bumper pad, and blanket. I also have the dress DD wore at her 1st birthday party, and I have the teddy bear I got for DS on his 1st birthday. Is that weird, like too much? It's all in a cedar chest, and that's all I have from their baby-hood other than photos and their baby books.

Yes, I have read the books and there was a lot more going on than the love triangle. And you couldn't respond in comments why?

Don't know if you've read the books, but it's about a love triangle. Sorry to disappoint but it's in the books.
