That is 100% the problem my in-laws are having. Though they’re nothing being stubborn in their own ways... fil works part time, mil is resentful he has all this free time and tells him he needs to start “pulling his weight” by getting a second part time job or quitting his “dream job” to work for $15 an hour when she makes $50 an hour. She doesn’t see everything he does around the house as anything more than puttering even though it’s modtly projects she wants him to take on. He also tried to keep his days semiflexible because her youngest daughter is constantly expecting him to help her with her 4 kids. She once told him she was signing up her fiancé for school and that when he started she needed fil to start picking up her kids from school, an hours drive away from where we live. Mil is finally talking to him again though...so things are less awkward at home.

I've talked to loads patients over the years who quit with Wellbutrin. Just be mindful of it having a tendency to cause a cumulative allergic reaction; meaning that if you're allergic, you might not know for a week or two. If you have any hives, itching, trouble breathing, etc, call your doctor. It can also give you lots of energy and cause diarrhea, which is why people love it because it makes them lose weight. Good luck with the smoking! You can do it!

I am also recovered from an eating disorder. I guess I am still considered 'disordered' because there are certain thing I won't eat. Like any fast food, most sugary foods, I don't drink soda, I don't drink alcohol, I avoid dairy for the most part. I eat a very plant-based diet. My weight is stable within 3-4 pounds, my BMI is in the low 20's. I'm still considered quite thin, but I'm healthy. I feel better restricting certain foods, I feel happy working out and staying thin. But in this day and age people will still paint that as a disorder. Because I don't eat like most people. It's VERY frustrating.

Here are my diet changes for 2019. I will say no to fast food (used to it eat at least weekly), limit eating out and one sugar item to only once per week (to eventually wean off sugar altogether and only eat at home - will also save $$), prep for all meals and snacks for the week, always carry veggies/fruit or nuts in purse, 80% meals will be plant based (eventually becoming pescatarian), will only drink green smoothies, water or tea, and aim to move my body at least 1 hour everyday (hiking, yoga, gym class, etc)), and lift weights 3 times a week for 1 hour. As you can see most of my changes are with my diet since that has been my Achille's heel with emotional and overeating binges. I have to do this self work with love to have a better relationship with myself.

After gaining weight a few years ago I jumped onto the whole body love/body acceptance/health at every size movement. I read the books, listened to the podcasts, and joined the fb groups. but i can't be in denial anymore. i miss my old body. i look and feel better at a lower weight. so while i still do believe in the basic tenants of the movement (everyone deserves respect regardless of their size, physical disabilities, health status, and more) I'm gonna try to aim to lose at least 30-40 lbs this year, for myself.

So much THIS. Happy? Eat. Sad? Eat. Bored? Eat. Lonely? Eat. Favorite TV show is on?Eat (okay, this is more of a habit, but you get what I'm saying). Severing emotion from nourishment is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. That candy bar isn't bringing you joy, regardless of what you're telling yourself. It's giving you a temporary rush of dopamine from the reward center of your brain, and that's keeping you hooked on the emotion + food = happiness cycle. We all do it and most of us do it way too much, hence the rising obesity epidemic. It's one reason why getting serious about losing weight is so difficult and mentally exhausting.

Racism is common up north too. I am a soft spoken, very shy, overweight white woman with thick eyeglasses. I was bullied out of my job by 3 black coworkers who kept calling me Fat White Nerd. It got so bad I just did not return after lunch one day.

GAH I hate pyramid schemes. Now it's the shake thing because of course it's all after the holidays so we all must be wanting to lose weight, right? Got IM'd on FB from a woman who barely has a connection to me. Like she's a cousin to a friend of a distant friend of mine. All of a sudden wants to "chat" because she hears what a great person I am. I could smell the bullshit through the phone. Oh and here comes the pitch in 3...2...1....blocked!

I often wonder...are there any people out there who have successfully lost a lot of weight and kept it off without eating a lot of veggies and fruits? I used to be obese and I would never have been able to lose the weight if I hadn't embraced veggies and starting eating tons more of them. I often tried just portion controlling my foods that were higher in calories before but I never felt satisfied at all.

I'm one of these people that has to be careful of what I eat not because I gain weight but I get malnourished pretty easily. I don't know why. I get weak and tired and not feeling well. I can always tell by my skin too and especially my nails if I'm not eating right. My nails grow fast, and if I'm not getting the nutrients I need they get really thin and sharp. I wear them kind of short so I'm constantly clipping them. If I find that I'm cutting with my nails just trying to live life, I know I need to re-evaluate the diet. Aaaaaand right now I have several little cuts from them. I know it's the diet because I've been able to fix it by changing my diet over and over again, every time I screw up my diet.
