Watching the morning news, boring story, boring story, video of cop speedily running into a man with no warning. Holy shit. So the victim was "armed and suicidal" and just stole a gun and they "wanted to stop anything from happening" but jesus christ, use a fucking tazer. The guy was just walking. I usually think the cries of police brutality are a bit of a reach but this one could have been handled much beter.

I confessed a little while ago about my FI's dad wanting to have a sit down talk with me before our wedding. I was panicking hard core in real life. It's not that I don't respect my future FIL, but quite honestly, they live their lives much differently than FI and me. I didn't want to get into a heated argument regarding Jesus right before the wedding. Hence the panic. FI took it upon himself to call up his dad and tell him to back off. FI told me a few days after he had talked to his dad. Well, future FIL pulled me aside last weekend to tell me not to worry about "the talk" and that we'd chat after the wedding. Although I think it makes me look like a pansy, I'm thankful FI stuck up for me and told his parents to give us some space. One less thing for me to worry about right now!

BFs brother made a rant on FB about religion. Some people on his friends list are die hard Christians. They got into it with him. The brother pin pointed a lot of good facts, but he did it with swearing and calling them names. The other people stated their views without being vulgar. It's people like his brother that makes people like us (who aren't Christians) look bad. Personally, I think no matter what religion you are, you need to keep it to yourself and the people who believe what you do. No one should be preaching to people who obviously don't want to be preached to. If you don't believe in Jesus, leave the Christians alone about what they want to believe. If you're Christian, stop telling people they're going to hell and trying to force Jesus on people. If you're any other religion, same rules apply. It doesn't matter what you believe in, if you harass other people about it, then you're one of the bad eggs.

Even if you don't believe the stories of the Bible to be true, I would think that you would be fascinated by it on a historical level. All major religious groups acknowledge that Jesus did exist, they just don't believe he was the son of God or God or in any way related to God. This one man had probably the greatest influence on the shaping of our world as we know it. Whether He was divine or not, that is pretty amazing.
