I'm starting to wonder if people are just bad.. in general. Just evil selfish pricks. All of them, as a general rule.

I'm the OP whose DH pointed a gun at me. He's laid off right now and I am positive that this will end our relationship for good. He's been irritable with me, snapping at me whenever I spend any money (I'm the only one earning any right now), sleeping all day and staying up all night and getting pissy when I tell him I need him to keep it down because I have to sleep because I have a JOB to go to in the morning. I knew this would be bad for his mental health and it is. He's refusing to go back on his meds and as soon as our state's safe at home order ends, so does this marriage.

I read an article the other day that really hit home for me. It talked about how some people with severe anxiety are feeling freakishly calm right now, because something bad is happening (the pandemic), but we're doing okay. Everything is terrible, but it doesn't feel the way I feel when I'm in my catastrophic thinking mode. It's hard to explain. I'm just not panicking right now. I feel surprisingly great, considering the shit show that's going on all around me.

My husband lost his job on Monday. I know we'll be okay, but it still is bad and scary. He's taking care of the house, while I go to work, but he's just so sad. The thing is, he wasn't really happy at his last job. He's in sales (fuel- gasoline and diesel) and it was really high pressure. I told him to apply at Costco as a cashier. Seriously. I don't care if he makes less money. I just want him to be happy. He's considering it. I hope he applies this week. He's been applying for more sales positions and i know he'll end up stressed out again. I'd rather be married to a happy cashier who can clock out at the end of a shift, than a tired, grumpy, overworked businessman.

I cut my DH's hair last night and I dyed mine. I will say this....I'm not bad! No bald spots on DH's hair and it's all pretty even and I even shaved his neck to get it all straight and neat. And my color came out great--stuck to going only 2 shades lighter than natural and I used all the dye to get it on evenly. I still want to go back to the salon when it opens up again though.

I will say that it did take a LOT of therapy to move past it. He was in the midst of a very bad psychotic episode when it happened and he had to be hospitalized for it--the day before he did that, he bought a 5 acre farm and I had to call the real estate agent to withdraw the offer. It was really scary in general. After a lot of therapy and medication, he was able to get into a better place and it took me a lot of forgiveness to get past it. Honestly, I think sometimes that I "deserved" it because I wasn't the best person to live with all the time. Realistically I know that isn't the case because I'm worth being treated well, but it's very hard for me to accept that I'm a worthy person I guess. Ever since then, he's been fine but it's still something that stays in my mind I guess.

My SIL just called us to tell us she's pregnant with her first kid. I want to be happy for them but I'm sorry, I can't. She and her DH are both unemployed and barely scraping by right now. Her DH has a ton of health problems and he's really young and they have tons of medical debt. It just seems really like...I dunno, a bad time to have a kid. Just my opinion of course.

Almost--I still have to go into work where we are on OT to catch up with backordered product. Meanwhile DH is furloughed for 6 weeks and does jack shit around the house while I come home, work out, shower, do laundry, do the dishes, and finally go to bed. You bet your ass I'm mad about it. I know he's depressed about not working, but I don't really give a shit because I'm allowed to be upset at the situation. So to the OP of that post--don't feel bad for being mad about this. I'm mad too. Lots of us are.

Yeah, she sucks. She doesn't deserve anything else from you ever, least of all a birthday card. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. The loss of your child is bad enough, but then to lose someone who you thought was a friend. She showed you who she really is. I've had "friends" do things like this as well, and it hurts, but I won't give them the opportunity to hurt me again. Sayonara!

I feel so bad for this year's high school seniors. For our high school, next weekend was supposed to be their prom, which they won't have. They also won't have a graduation. For many of these kids, they may never see each other again. No goodbyes, nothing. I graduated 30 years ago, but my senior year of high school was one of the best of my life. I remember prom and graduation, signing yearbooks, all of it. This has all been taken from them. I can't even imagine.
