OP here who went on the weird job interview. I posted earlier this week I didn't get the job. At the interview he said he was interviewing several people and in the rejection e-mail I got, he mentioned the standard "I have decided to go with a candidate who more strongly matches our needs". I just saw the job was posted again 13 hours ago. Seriously. He must be looking for a Christian child lover who dresses like an Amish person. Ha.

Whether or not you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He still loves you. I really wish that Christians would remember that being Christian means being Christ-like and would love others the way that Christ does.

I think businesses that turn away or want to turn away business based on their personal beliefs is stupid. Do you really care that sale is to a gay person or an atheist? I see that as you pushing your religion onto me! Are you in business to make money or shout to the sky how Christian you are? Does this mean an atheist businessowner can turn away a christian customer?! I hope so! And I believe in God and Jesus Christ! But I'm moreso a believer in equality of all aspects of beliefs. Does personal privacy not exist anymore?!

Blasting people about their religion being dumb, and the whole "would you sell me a soda even though I had an abortion" will never change anyone. It will never work insulting their beliefs and the other argument is poor. Providing an item that is part of the process(wedding cakes) that the person's beliefs aren't in line with, is totally different than the other scenarios. Yeah they might sell someone that has had an abortion a burger, but they won't build them a table for terminating pregnancy. I certainly don't agree, but I'm able to remove my anger to understand the difference. I know everyone feels better just yelling at people, but if you know someone that makes cakes and feels this way there are some things to calmly communicate. I would point out that providing a cake for gay weddings is no different than providing a cake to heterosexual couples that have been sleeping together before the wedding. So you will have to consider losing that business too if you're going full in on your convictions. Then, speaking of convictions, it seems you are devout and I'm sure you would like to be a witness, so why not make it a completely legal and acceptable personal business policy to have a tasteful subtle Cross(this is mainly a Christian thing but Crescent Moon, Star of David, who knows?) somewhere on ALL of your wedding cakes. You will not only thin the demographic of what you're looking for with that addition, but for those who still order it, who knows who you may touch with that being seen by everyone at the wedding. Then last, if they aren't really responding to that, just kindly mention that you live in a country that can not allow discrimination but is also free, so you are free to make cakes for EVERYONE, free to leave the cake business, free to make cookies, free to exercise your religious beliefs by choosing a whole different career(not an option in all countries or governments), whatever you want, BUT you are not free to discriminate.

I would just like to say that I am a Christian, but I have no issues with gays or anybody really.I have never alienated them, I have always been nice. I have even had a few gay friends. I guess my point is that there are Christians out there who don't act like bigoted self-centered assholes intent on destroying peoples lives and forcing religion on them.
