I hate talking on the phone. My mil is the worst because she calls me and talks forever about absolutely nothing. I will avoid her calls for weeks because I hate getting stuck on the phone with her. Just say what you gotta say and hang up!

I had to stop breastfeeding because DD would not stop biting my nipples. I would tell her no and pull away slightly, and she stopped-at first. One time she bit a little harder than usual and I told her no,this time she bit even harder and the pain almost sent me through the ceiling. I yelled OUCH, NO, and got so frustrated that I had to put her in her crib and have a few minutes alone. She screamed the whole time. It seemed like forever, but it was only about 5 minutes.

Until we manage our population, all the talk about climate change is wasted words. I'm not talking draconian Chinese style population control. It could be promoted very easily-if people can be convined to buy a TV with a screen that shows you two shows at once, or water that costs $4 a bottle, advertisers could sell the idea that two people without kids are a complete family. But that will never happen because Madison Avenue needs an ever-widening stream of little consumers, and the government needs more and more taxpayers. They put forth the fiction that we can keep going on forever the way we are. I'm CF, but I want to leave the planet hopefully better, and at least no worse than I found it. But the game is rigged against me, and the rest of us too. Keep watching TV, everything is fine.

I also hate going to Walmart. More than that, I hate people who tell me "just don't shop there". I live in a small town and for a lot of things, Walmart is the only place there is to do a weekly one-stop trip. So I suck it up and go even though it means encountering tons of people who smell like they never bathe and having to wait in line forever to check out.

While most parents say they wish their little one could stay little forever I am happy as hell that DS is finally 7 years old. 7 is so much better than infancy and toddler years. I am not cut out for years 0-5. He has always been a good kid but I just didn't like or enjoy it. Others don't want them to grow up and I can't wait for the teenage years. I would rather have 10 teenagers over 1 infant or toddler.

You can't count on your husband to help out with the household jobs, which makes you feel quitting your job is the best answer. What makes you feel you can count on your husband to stand by you and support and your kids forever?

Not trying to start a giant storm, but do homeschoolers "get" that you cannot protect your children from the world forever. Is your goal really to not have them go to college and earn good livings? Maybe make a dream of their own come true that will require getting along with people of all kinds? Living in a bubble simply won't provide them with the skills they need to interact with the world, and maybe make great and important changes in the world.

If you know me, you'll know that I'm very patient, sweet, friendly, and not very assertive (confrontation makes me twitch). But today, I had to give a worker at my doctors office an attitude. There was a guy in front of me, she was helping him but also had a conversation with him after she was done. When I stepped up, she asked my name and what I needed, I said I need to make an appt. She told me to have a seat and she will be right back. She came out to the lobby, passed me and said "You're next, I'll just be a second". She talked to a lady in the chair 2 seats from me. I have no real issue with any of that. She went back to her desk and proceeded to help 3 people who were behind me, which took forever because she's very chatty. As she finished with the last person a friend of hers popped in to talk. I looked at the worker, she looked at me, then she turned her head and talked to her friend for 15 minutes. I had been waiting 45 minutes as it was. I popped up and was angry, "do you think you're going to get me today?" She was said sorry, I told her she should be. It took 1 minute to make an appt with her. When I go back for my appt, if she does this again I am going to be speaking to her boss. Making a customer wait 45 mintutes total because you want to chat while on the clock is unacceptable.

If you want to work go work. The 'my income barely covers daycare' argument doesn't fly. Sure, the kids are in daycare for a few years, but in that time you're accumulating professional experience and connections. By the time the kids are out of daycare you'll be that much further along in your career. Some of these women wait until the kids are out of elementary school and by that time, their degrees are dried up and useless and theyhave to take low-paid jobs with no career potential. Don't do this to yourself. Your well-paid DH may not always be your DH (I know, none of us want to think that way, but half of us will likely be divorced in 20 years). YOu need to be able to make your own income and not count on someone wanting to support you forever.
