No, I would not agree with you that the OP"s 12 yr old step son should have had the authorities called on him or that he should have been charged with assault. He is a child. A badly behaved, aggressive, violent, scary child, but not fully responsible for his actions. I think he needs help. I don't believe in throwing kids away because they are reacting to their lives in a way that is reasonable and understandable. I don't think it's right and I think action needs to be taken, but I just don't think calling the police is the way to go. Therapy. A lot of one on one therapy. He might be 12 years old, but his maturity may be way lower due to abuse, emotional or physical and an unstable violent environment. Kids are so resilient if you give them even a little chance and throwing him into the system isn't the way to do it.

Just when I think I cannot hate my soon to be ex anymore than I already do he comes up with something new and improved to make me want to smack the living crap out of him. A few months ago he sent an email to our son telling him that he was dropping him from his health insurance because our son is a traitor. Our son is a traitor because he stopped his father from abusing his little sister and told the police what happened. Anyway today my son gets an email from his dad stating that he changed his mind about dropping him from the insurance. His dad said that since it was apparent that our son was either too stupid or unable to find full time work where he can get insurance he was going to keep him on the insurance. Our son is 22. He is a full time college student and is looking for work. In the meantime he donates plasma and does private music gigs for money. His dad went onto say that our son is mentally ill and needs serious therapy for being a traitor so he needs the insurance because he is (and I quote) fucked up beyond all belief. I seriously want to kill this man. He abused us for years. He terrorized us. He calls my kids worthless N words (he is black). He makes sexual comments about our daughters. Even going so far as to asking our oldest daughter's boyfriend what she was like in bed. And my son is the one who is fucked up beyond all belief. I truly hope that Karma catches up with this son of a bitch and I hope to God that I am there to see it.

Tonight my bf ds12 smacked and punched my ds5. I'm absolutely pissed right now. I was going to call the cops but bf talked me out of it. This isn't the first time his son has hit one of my kids who are 5 and 6 years younger than him but tonight is the last time this will happen cause next time I'm calling the police on him. My boys have enough of this kind of crap from their dad's gf boys who are the same age as my bf ds, they don't need to feel like their home with me is an unsafe place like it is with their dad. Bf told his son that next time he does this I will be calling the cops and he will be spending time in juvi. I would normally leave comments open but now I don't feel safe given the fact that it seems people on here favor step kids and think it's ok for them to act like this. This kind of violent behavior is not ok and it shouldn't matter whether or not a child is a step kid or not. A 12 year old knows better.

I did something out of character yesterday. I'm tired of keeping my mouth shut and being badmouthed all over town. While with dh I paid the majority of bills, cooked, cleaned , basically did everything for my bios and steps while dh allowed his kids to go beyond disrespecting me and bios. They've stolen from us, broken our belongings, screamed in our faces to the point we either locked ourselves in a room or left the house during their parenting time. There were incidents of me being tripped, pushed down the stairs and broken fingers from drawers being slammed on my hand. The last straw was Dss hitting my dd11 in the face with trash can breaking her nose then jumped on her punching her everywhere. Her entire face was purple from bruising, her little body bruised all over. I sent my bios to their dads, not letting dh know I was also leaving. I moved all my kids things 1st. Dh assumed I took I took them to their dads to live permanently. I took vacation time, pretended to be working and prepared our old house, moved my things a little at a time, separated my savings and income, took him off life insurance. He and steps will be off my health insurance effective January 1st. I moved myself and my remaining belongings out of dh's house and into my former home while dh and step kids were camping in September. My kids and I have been living there in peace ever since. He has been bad mouthing me saying I hated him having kids, didn't accept them and didn't act as a mom to them even though I did everything and they have a mom. Yesterday I emailed copies of the police reports, court docs, pics of dd's face, my broken fingers, items that were destroyed and the restraining order from dss assaulting dd to their friends and family. I also messaged it to dh, step kids, their family members, friends facebooks. I also put put screenshots of texts I found showing he cheated, not me and threats he's sent me since I moved. I put a lot of detailed stories of all that was done to us in that house. The truth is out there. He's been calling and sending some scary messages since last night. I'm waiting for dh to retaliate. The messages get angrier as he's being contacted by more and more people I sent this all too. I'm scared of him hurting me, but I don't regret it.

Step mom definition: Live in maid/chauffeur/cook/sitter/verbal punching bag who pays the majority of the bills because half of DH's salary goes to his kids. I am FORMER stepmom. We separated after an argument over my former stepson, 12 at the time, told me to shut the fuck up. I told SS to not talk to me like that and that he had better shut his mouth. Dh told me not to talk to his son like that, and "go apologize to my son right now or I will punch you in the face" I grabbed the dog, left the house, and called the police. Police went to the house and questioned DH. They arrested him, biomom was not answering her phone to pick up SS, DCF got involved, I got a restraining order and a divorce, and the dog and I are very happy lol.

I hate my soon to be ex-husband with an undying passion. He refuses to give me any money to take care of our kids. He refuses to talk to our son because he says our son is a traitor. Our son is supposedly a traitor because he tried to stop his dad from beating his little sister, told the police what happened, and will not lie to the courts about what happened. He has not talked to our son since August of 2013. Husband is legally not allowed to contact our daughter that he abused. My 18 yo DD and 20 yo DD still talk to their dad. They do this because as long as they don't rock the boat with him by telling them that they think he is wrong for abusing their little sister. They also put up with him calling them the N word (he is black), making inappropriate sexual comments to them, telling them how he is going to make sure I get what is coming to me, and basically just continuing the abuse he has heaped on them for years. I have a problem with them still talking to him because I hate the way he treats them. But they are adults and can make their own decisions. Today their dad is taking the 18 yo and 20 yo shopping, out to lunch, and is giving them money. He does this knowing that it upsets our daughter he abused who is a minor. He is supposed to support his minor child but won't. He gets a perverse pleasure out of knowing that it hurts our child. I don't know what to do. It really makes me angry that he uses our other kids to hurt our youngest and it really makes me angry that my other DD's allow themselves to be used. Then everyone wonders why my youngest has all of these damn daddy issues. My heart breaks for her. She isn't perfect and does things she shouldn't. But she doesn't deserve to be tormented like this.

I'm not a grammar police, it doesn't bother me too much. But I do hate when people spell 'definitely' as -defiantly- or spell 'aisle' as -isle-. Aisle/isle I can mayyybe understand, but not definitely.

My bf hates the fact that I always feel like I need have have my cell phone with me and he gets mad sometimes if i leave it at home and tell him to turn around so I can run in and grab it. I get kind of freaked out if I forget my cellphone at home. It's not a security blanket or like I feel like I'm missing out on texts or phone calls but I always worry about something bad happening and not having a phone to call 911 when I need it. And today was one of those days when I really needed to be able to call 911 and was so glad I had it with me! We were driving on some back roads and this guy had been tailgating us for so long but he finally decided to pass us in an illegal zone going up a hill which was a blind spot and he ended up scraping against out car then he stops in the middle of the road, blocking us from going around him, comes up to the car and starts calling us explicit names, trying to sick his hands through the widow to grab my bf, saying "hey asshole, you hit my car!" Then he comes around to my side to try and open up my car door, bf gunned it and ended up slightly hitting him into the side of our car in an attempt to get away from him. We get around him and pull over and I call the police, bf phone gets horrible reception so his cell phone is useless. Bf actually didn't want me to call the police but I did it anyways. The guy ended up taking off and calling the police as he drives away. He said we hit him then drove off and that bf ran over his foot on purpose. A police officer ended up calling me back on my phone and said the guy finally admitted to taking off but that was only after he kept getting his stories mixed up and the officer said I never faltered with what what I said. The officer said that if I hadn't call 911 that we'd probably get cited for being at fault and that it's always better to call 911 to make a report than to do nothing so you can protect yourself. This is why I'm so scared to leave my phone at home cause of assholes like this guy!

I am so sick of bad parents letting their little shits run amok I could vomit. Either learn to control them, or the police and probation officers will have to do it for you later in your life, while you wring your hands and wonder why your cute kid grew into such a monster.

It gives me a chuckle every-time I drive by one of our police stations that has a donut shop right next door to it.
