I'm not wealthy but I don't expect the taxpayers to take care of me. I don't want to take care of lazy addicts or illegals. My support for Trump is based on not wanting our country to become like Venezuela, Somalia, France, Iraq and other places where socialism or totalitarianism has come about. Venezuela is about to become a bunch of rubble. People starving and can't get any drugs much less expensive ones. Our propaganda media isn't covering this in the US. Watch Reuters, Sky News or another non US news agency.

Trump's Cuba speech was right on. The Castro regime is awful and always has been. Thankfully this president rolled back Obama's embrace of Cuba. Supporting the Castros' terror, robbery, executions of political prisoners, sex trafficking, and spreading Marxism to other countries was a bad mistake of Obama's. Look at Venezuela, a resource-rich country now reduced to a pathetic socialist nightmare where people are starving. Not that we get much news about it with the propaganda press focused on taking Trump down.

Holy shit. So I went against my instinct and accepted a friend request off someone in a facebook group I'm in, even though we've never actually spoken. Twenty minutes later she starts posting racist propaganda videos. Note to self, always listen to instincts. If you can't even be bothered to message someone to say hi and maybe have a little chat before you friend each other, from now on I'm just going to assume you're friend collecting. Buh bye, racist bitch!

I think the idea that people can't be a person of faith and a person of science is pretty narrow minded. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive, and there are plenty of scientists who are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc. Of course there's some crazy fanatics out there, but to paint all people of faith with the same broad strokes is just as crazy as believing that God hates gay people. Not saying anyone here is like that, I just personally know people (one atheist, one pagan) who are like this. Generalizations don't help anyone. By all means, fight against the crazies, but until someone inflicts their religious doctrine on you, their beliefs are none of your business.

It's easy. I see them as being human. If they were hateful about their beliefs, it would be another story, but they're not. Amazing what can happen when people respect each other. If they were kind to me, and I refused to know them because I labeled them as ignorant, that would have absolutely nothing to do with them, and everything to do with me and my own issues. I don't believe in creationism, but so what? I think it says a lot about her that she's willing to discuss religion with a pagan and doesn't resort to preaching. She's a gem.

I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who always told me I was wrong. I'm a heathen pagan, but two of my dear friends are devout Christians. One is nondenominational, the other is a creationist. To say we disagree on major issues would be putting it mildly. However, none of us are dicks about our views. We have some awesome discussions. We respect each other enough to not have to be right, and instead try to understand where the other person is coming from. It's pretty cool. I never thought I would be close to people with their beliefs, but I'm glad I am.

The snakes he killed were pagans. I'm Irish and was raised pagan. Hence, I was raised to not be a fan of Saint Patrick.

Former Catholic here; totally agree. I go to church sometimes for special occasions (baptisms, when I'm bullied into going at Christmas and Easter with my inlaws, weddings, etc) and wow, do I feel so uncomfortable when I'm in a Catholic church. All the prolife pamphlets, anti-contraception propaganda, the baloney that the priests preach, uggh. It makes my skin crawl. The way people kneel and stand and bow their heads and chant. I feel like I'm surrounded by zombies. Completely brainless and spoon fed garbage. I had my aunt inlaw get all indignant because IUDS cause abortions and the morning after pill causes abortions and I was like um no. No. The church is not a medical expert. If Plan B was an abortificant doesn't she think people would just go spend 40$ at the pharmacy instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a termination? Duh.

Here's how I'm perceiving 2016 and all the deaths that occurred. Now, bear in mind that I'm pagan, so my belief structure is a bit different than the status quo, lol. Many people over the last few years have been experiencing a lot of change, and that includes death. Death in the literal sense, but also death of old ways of being, ideas, processes, etc. 2016, astrologically speaking, was an end year. 2017 is a "1" year. It's meant to be a new beginning, and how you perceive the change and internalize it, is how you will experience it. So, are you going into this new beginning kicking and screaming, trying to hang onto old ways, or are you going into it with an open mind? We're creatures of habit and change is hard, but essentially we create our own reality. Be good to yourself and others. We're all in this together (whether we like it or not).

Oh, you must know my SIL. She talks about the horror of partial birth abortions that she must think are routine or something...they only do those if the baby has a lethal condition just before birth. She acts like these are the majority of abortions. I told her that logically, if a woman didn't want a baby, they would NOT wait 8 months to get an abortion. She thrives on the pro-life propaganda out there that PP is this evil place where they harvest 8 month old fetuses for body parts and that sort of thing. I don't get it either.
