I feel you 1000%. I love my dad and the thought of him not being around makes me sad. But truth be told, he is an exhausting man and always has been. I think he tried his best, but he brought so much negativity and toxicity to everything we did as a family. All the pain he has caused my mom. I pray he goes first. My mom deserves to enjoy some of this life without a wet blanket. My dad, as much as I love him is the human equivalent of a wet blanket.

Sometimes I think maybe I just don't feel hunger like other people do, I don't feel 'hunger', it's more like nausea. And then because I'm nauseated I don't really want to eat. And on and on it goes, and I'm just a no. 2 pencil with frizzy hair and glasses. Not a curve in sight. I hate eating and dealing with food and figuring out what to eat. What's ironic about it is that I really enjoy the actual process of cooking. I love chopping vegetables, I find it very meditative. Maybe I'm just abnormal. In general.

I agree so much. I love my husband, I really do. But he mansplains to me all the time. He shoots down my ideas if he thinks he'll have to help me (in other words if he thinks I can't do it without his help, he shoots it down) because he doesn't want to help. He takes advantage of me by never helping with housework. He's a typical American straight white man. And I am 100% serious when I say that I don't think I could find a better one. And my husband is shit. He really is, as far as treating me like an equal. He sucks at it, and he's one of (what I consider) the GOOD ones. They're ALL shit. Every single one of them. It's just what level of shit?

i stay w/my DH because I don't want to lose my house. This is the first and only house I've ever owned, and I love it. We've been here for 20 years. I have a good job, but I could never afford it on my own. If we divorced, I'd have to buy out his half (community property state). And it's appreciated in value so much, there's no way I could do that. I know I should leave, but I hate the idea of my kids losing their childhood home - their only home. I want them to come here for holidays with their kids. I want them to always be able to come home. To have that security.

I discovered a new Tibetan vegan organic restaurant in my area. I am in love!! Food was incredibly tasty and very reasonable for the quality. I truly feel their food was made with lots of love. And, the owner used to be a former Buddhist monk with an incredible backstory. I sincerely hope this restaurant succeeds in our land of fast food.

44 years ago he said ‘you’ll never amount to anything stout me’ as I was walking out the door. Bought my first house at 23, a new car at 24, and at 25 met the love of my life and have a happy life ever since. Moral of my story: if he tells you you’ll never make it, laugh at the son of a bitch.

I booked a consultation for Botox. Has anyone else here tried it? Or is everyone doing it and I'm the last one? I'd love to hear people's experiences!

I try not to text friends out the blue for favors, but had to tonight with a timely favor. Not surprisingly two came through in a really big way! I am so blessed to have met them through work and it's been years now. Love ya, K&D!

I'm in the same boat. Married to a useless man. I no longer love him and want out of this marriage. Thanks to the current economical climate, it'll take me a little longer than 2 years to be able to leave, but I'm working on it. Cheers to a brighter future!

On of the reasons I love that I get to work from home, is that I don't have to leave my pets. So I get it. This reminds me of a commercial/PSA to not drink and drive. It shows a guy and dog playing, cuddling, etcc. from when he was a puppy to an adult. Then it shows him sitting, staring at the door, and says something like, "He would never understand why you didn't come back." If that doesn't keep you from drinking and driving, nothing will.
