I am 49 and have every symptom of menopause / perimenpause except not having a period, which now just comes randomly. Could be in 5 weeks, could be in 2 weeks (that's fun), but never do I just not get a period. I can't sleep, have hot flashes, weight gain, random breast pain, itchy skin - OMG, so itchy, fatigue, weight gain, anxiety, and eveyr other shit symptom. But the ONE thing I actually want - no more periods or even less frequent periods- is the one symptom I don't have. This is bullshit

Yeah, no worries for sure. One day of indulgence isn't going to derail you, esp if you've been on track since June.. Which is awesome BTW. The 3 lbs are probably due to the high carb and sodium. That's why I never weigh the day after. Give it 4-5 days and I'm sure the extra weight will be gone. Plus sometimes it's good to shock your body with a high calorie day, after all those months of restricting.

Thank you. I was seriously about to make a sandwich and I turned around and put the bread away. I looked in the mirror today, and I still like how I look. What I don't like are the feelings I have every holiday season around gaining weight. Usually I keep overeating and keep feeling miserable. Not this year! I just went down a pants size and I am not going to mess that up.

I have been trying to put a little weight back on pretty much all year to no avail. I'm not a person that eats junk or is sedentary. I had been eating more healthy food trying to gain a little weight and it didn't work. So I bought some hot chocolate mix, and a huge box of granola bars (basically candy IMO) and started making an actual effort to snack. Know what? I gained four pounds in two weeks! Know what else? I feel like SHIT. I'm tired and sluggish and feel hungry more often, but too tired to actually cook. So I eat another one of those effing snack bar things. And that just makes me feel worse. IDGAF anymore if I'm underweight. I won't do this to myself. Do people who eat this way normally feel like this ALL THE TIME? My god.

It's official- I've lost 30 pounds. I feel so much more comfortable. I'm not huffing and puffing on the stairs at work. My clothes fit better. I'm happy. I know that my health or my value are measured by my weight but I. Am. Happy! This has taken me 5.5 months. I plan to keep it up through the holidays. Next challenge- Thanksgiving leftovers!

Hematologist is dragging her feet about a bone marrow biopsy so I’ve made an appointment with another. Canceled a shoulder surgery because it just didn’t feel right, and made some changes. Joined Weight Watchers, shopped for healthy food, started walking every day (up to half a mile a day, and that’s a HUGE deal for me), and I’m exercising 30 minutes a day. Blood sugar is back to normal, I feel better and I’ve lost three lbs.

OP here, thanks for asking. My binge eating is still there, although it's gotten a little better ( if that makes sense). My weight loss has stalled because I don't have a ton to lose, so one binge or even a little over eating can wipe out my whole progress for the week. Haven't gained though, so I guess that's good. As you know, it doesn't get any easier around the holidays either. I hope the app is helping you, I'm going to download it ASAP. Hope you're doing good as well.

I could have written this. I'm going to a Divorce for Women informational seminar next month to see what my options are and how to start the process. The thing that really pisses me off is that my DH is the most helpful person ever when other people are here. He'll clear and wash dishes, clean the kitchen, cook, whatever. He won't do any of that normally. He knows he doesn't pull his weight. He only does it when people are here so he doesn't look like an asshole. He's got everyone fooled into thinking he's a model partner. He's not. And it makes me look like the bad guy if I ever say anything or complain.

I cant shake this feeling that something horrible is coming. I'm usually not wrong when I feel like this. I haven't had this much dread in a while though. I wish it would just go ahead and happen so I can stop being paralyzed by this weight in my chest.

This last spring I got really sick with appendicitis and had to have surgery. What I found out is that I'd had bouts of appendicitis for the past year. Once I knew what that pain was, it was obvious to me that's what I'd been dealing with. I thought it was food poisoning all that time. Cut to now, and I still haven't gained back the weight I lost from being sick. Not only that, but it's only September and it's just now getting chilly and I am FREEZING. My hands are like ice. I can't get warm. How am I gonna make it through the winter? It was bad last year, too, I had already lost some weight then. This is dumb. I'm so damn cold. And I'm sick of people telling me to eat a sandwich.
