TGIF! What a long week. Tonight dh and I are taking ds and my parents to a nice Russian restaurant (as a thank you to my parents for picking him up from school today) and because ds learned about Russia in geography and he wants to try the food. I hope it's not awful. I've never had Russian cuisine. Tomorrow night I'm going to a girls night in. We're playing games and drinking and having a sleepover. It will be so much fun. Someone is bringing Cards Against Humanity.

I take back every complaint I've ever had about my dh and admit that I don't deserve the man he has become. For our 5th anniversary (which I thought he had forgotten, or chosen not to celebrate this year), he surprised me by taking me to a 5 star restaurant, made sure a floral arrangement had been delivered and was on the table, and for dessert the waiter brought out a plate with 4 roses and a beautiful necklace. (And dessert. Lol) I was (still am) floored. I feel like such a bitch for every complaint about him or crying because of the flower thing. Maybe now I'll think before I complain.

Pretty much wherever I've worked we've been told to sell sell sell. I worked for a restaurant chain and we were supposed to try and get the customers to buy as much as possible, we were supposed to "upsell" their drinks and appetizers. Later when I worked at a weight loss clinic we were supposed to get clients to sign on for the longest program we could get them to committ to and try to get them to take our vitamins. I worked in a health food store and we were drilled into being overly friendly and chatty to try and get customers to buy more stuff. I really hated being pushed to sell so hard, I'm sure it works out well for the company but the constant pressure made me hate those jobs so much.

So you ate 410 calories for dinner. That's perfectly fine, isn't it? I don't think 210 calories is so bad for a tortilla, as long as you only eat one. But if you consider how many tortillas it takes to make a bag of chips that you may put a pretty big dent in while making dinner. Or the basket of chips you may devour while waiting for your dinner to be served in a restaurant, now that's a helluva lot of calories!

I've had psychic gifts since I was a child - everyone on one side of my family does, including my children - but I only started trying to understand and work on them about two years ago. A few months later, the gift of mediumship started coming out. I'll be out somewhere and suddenly get the urge to give someone a message from a loved one. It always ends with both of us hugging and in tears, total Long Island Medium stuff here. It makes me SO happy to be able to bring joy and comfort to people, but the thing is, I live in a really small town and word travels quickly. A couple weeks ago I was in the grocery store when a cashier came up to me and said she'd heard that I was psychic, then proceeded to shove her hand in my face and ask me to read her palm - which I don't do. (I did pick up on her husband's heart problems, though.) Yesterday dh and I stopped into a small local restaurant for a bite, where a couple months ago I'd given a reading to our waitress that day. She came over to talk to us when she saw us, then apparently went and told the other girls the story of her reading. Next thing I know, our waitress made a beeline for our table, asking me what I saw for her. Sigh. I love being able to pass messages along, but if it comes, it comes; if it doesn't, it doesn't. I can't be put on the spot like that, it's too overwhelming.

My DH made a funny comment and I think about it every time we go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. He says, "it's good, but it's always the same seven or eight ingredients,". Peppers, onions, rice, beans, avocado, chicken, beef, olives, japalapenos. Haha, it's pretty much true.

This Lebanese restaurant is so amazing. It has made me realize that my warm pita and hummus need tabbouleh. I thought it was fine with just pita and hummus. I love pita and hummus! But no. I was wrong. It needs tabbouleh in there too. It is so good.

There is a specific restaurant where I am a regular there. I go at least 3 times a month. The manager and all of the staff know me and my bf quite well. Tonight, we went there, bf got drunk and decided to cause a scene. why? Because when our appetizer came out it was too hot for him to eat, but it wasn't for me...I had eaten a few pieces off the end and he was shocked it wasn't burning my mouth. So he grabbed my hand and placed it in the middle, where it was burning hot. I said "If something is burning hot, you don't place someones hand in it, it's rude". He thinks he did nothing wrong and proceeded to get loud, letting others "know" that he's starting to see that I have mental problems and how hard it is for him to try to treat me good. I kept telling him that he needed to quiet down, he refused. So I said that only trash make scenes in public. Now I can't go back there. 2 more weeks and I can leave him.

There is a local meetup I tried a few times but they regularly meet in a huge group at this very loud bar/restaurant. When I'd go, I spent the entire time screaming because no one could hear me....alternating with me saying, "what was that? Excuse neu couldn't hear you?" And having people screw back at me. These seem to be very well attended ....I don't get how that is fun, I found it exhausting and annoying.
